Husbands staff coming to my house! Help suggestions for party food

There all coming over and were going to do a fun white elephant exchange this friday. I just don't have a clue what to do for food. I am usually good at this for KIDS but am trying to think of what is good for adults.

I thought of making all sorts of soups and stew and having a soup bar too doing fondue. I think though fondue as fun as it is, I can't think of doing it for 15 people unless someone knows a way I can? Any hints on elegant, holiday fare, even non alcoholic drinks and desserts. Give me your best menu ideas out there!

Hi Robyn, You are in pickle it sounds like! I have always found my seven layer bean dip with chips and salsa is a hit. You can make as much or as little as you want (i.e. no measuring!) by using what looks best to you. I layer mine by using refried beans on the bottom layer, shredded cheddar or mexican blend cheese on top of that. Heat this, microwave, till cheese is a little melted (too melted and it's hard to dip in or break through). Then salsa, sour cream, taco seasoning sprinkled across, shredded lettuce, guacamole, black olives, and japalenos. I put the last three on top b/c usually those are the things some people don't like so it's easy to pick off if they choose to. Hope this helps you out, good luck! Angela

Something simple and yet pretty is to take the little smoke weeners and wrap them with bacon. Stick a toothpick in them to keep the bacon on. Drizzle them with a light bbq sauce and add some brown sugar. Bake in oven till they are warm. Get a pretty platter and cut up some fruit put out a bowl of whip cream add some red and green sprinkles to the top. You could even rent a chocolate fountain. Yum yum
Hope every thing goes well.

this post is way old.... but first on Mamapedia on Events & Event Planning, so I was looking for some help in planning my event and found this great resource that I want to share with all the Mamapedia, I was looking for some event rental equipment http://www.rentalcomp.com/ supplier in my area and found event rental equipment search engine RentalComp its almost like Google but better as it gives results based on your location of party rental suppliers and you can review and compare them as you want.
