HELP! Red Crystal Light Spill!

I was holding my baby while eating (big mistake!) and he reached out and knocked my red crystal light over and it spilled all over the carpet! I have tried the carpet cleaner we had on hand (western family) and the carpet is still pink. Any suggestions?

If your carpet is a lighter color soak it in Hydrogen peroxide and then blot it up. It's a miracle cleaner. you can also get the Red wine remover from Linens & Things. I use both for all kinds of stains.

Hot Shot...Wal-mart and Sam's have it. It is pricey....but I can't live without it. As we have 4 dogs, two sweet girls and 2 stinky gerbils!!! Hahahaha It has a very strong odor, but has pulled out every stain we have had this far. Good luck:)

Or use Red Erase! It takes care of all red stains.

I use Protek which is environmentally safe and is a tax write off it has done wonders in my house. You can order it on PROTEKCHEMICAL.COM it is a little pricey but it is concentrated and non toxic if mixed right. I hope this helps and gl.

I use Folex. You can buy it in Albertsons or Smiths. It is the best and easiest to use. I can't remember the price as I bought mine ages ago. Takes out any stain or spills we have and gentle on the carpet.

Good Luck!

Try Woolite OxyClean spray carpet cleaner. It took set in red wine out of my carpet. I use it for everything! Just spray it heavily on and leave it for a while. You may not even need to blot it up....seriously!

white Vinegar!!!!
It's cheap and works...mix w/ a bit of water let soak and plot up...

Jenny-
I've had the same problem, I used Resolve carpet cleaner, and I've found that it gets just about anything out of your carpet! Good luck!

Oh girl! You have to get some Advantage. Go to www.advantage.com and get the Green Apple cleaner. I know I sound like a commercial but it is amazing stuff. My son spilled Red Grape juice on our white carpet...now it is very concentrated stuff and I had it in a spray bottle for my windows and counters with water added. I started with the stain that way but not to much was happening so I decided just to pour the concentrated stuff right from the bottle -- I had nothing to lose! I am not kidding you the stain was instantly gone! So I just kept pouring right on the stain - used a towel to blot after rubbing it in with my fingers and used my blow dryer to dry it.

I asked my husband when he came home if he could tell where our son spilled his red grape juice -- of course he pointed out a spot not even near it! So there you go!!

Best part ---- it is non-toxic!

Good luck

Hi Jenny,

I have a light colored carpet and spilled red wine on it a few weeks ago. One of my neighbors came to the rescue and used a product called Capture on the spot (a big spot/splatter). You can't even tell anything was spilled. You can get this at Home Depot.

Good Luck,
Lori

Sol u Mel by Melaleuca got red nail polish out of white carpet for me and pink paint out as well.

Greased Lightening.
If any of you don't keep that in your house at all times, well, your just not thinking straight.
That stuff has been the answer to all my prayers with three boys.
Just a little greased lightening, or alot, LOL and some elbow grease and it should come right out.
Good luck

Hey try Folex instant carpet spot remover. You can get it at walmart. It is great I have gotten every stain out so far even red marker on my carpet. It might work or it might not but it isn't very much money and it is worth a try. You just spray aggitate with fingers and blot no rinsing. I love it.

Spotshot!!!!

Hi
I have a really light woven carpet and have gotten everything from blueberries to red wine stains out with "Spot Shot". Buy it in any Walmart or Target type store. The stuff is unbelieveable!

Try using the Rug Doctor spot cleaner that you can get at Albertson's, which is sold in the customer service center (it's what is used in the rental carpet cleaner system that they have there). It comes in a small red container, and it works great. Just ask customer service; they will sell you a small container. Follow the instructions--pour it on, let sit, rub from outside of the spill to the inside with a sponge, put a white towel or paper towels on top and weigh down with books (put plastic underneath so they don't get wet) or something else that is really heavy. You may have to do this several times to get it all up, but it will help. Good luck!

The best carpet cleaner I have ever used is a walmart generic called Folex. It is in a white bottle with a sprayer on top. We have white carpet and I spill grape juice everywhere. I tried everything but nothing worked. A week later I tried this stuff and it came out with little work. I have even go over stains that have been there for years and it is still taking the stains out. Good luck!

Jenny,

You might try the Stain Devils ink remover that you can find at JoAnn Fabrics. This product is phenomenal on ink. It might work on the Crystal Light stain. (The product that really works on red food stains, that used to be available through Insight International, appears to no longer be available.)

try diluted bleach. be careful not to bleach the carpet though. start out heavily diluted and gradually add more according to what you think you need.
