Hi, our furnace is not working. The unit started to blow hot air and then cold air last night. Does anyone have a recommended repair company. I don't feel comfortable just pulling a name out of the yellow pages, since we don't have much extra money at this time and you can't trust everyone...

Blackburn Service Company 512-416-9351 is Awesome! They came right away when our A/C went out this blazing summer-it was even on a Sunday! Then our heater did the same thing as yours and they came out ASAP and they are so reasonable in cost.

Not sure where you are- but in Sugar Land area I use Casual Air- Fred- 281-498-3900 Howns his own business. I like that he very much encourages repairs rather than replace.

I've never used them other than for advice, but I was very impressed with their advice: Jon Wayne A/C.
I have a neighbor that also does this: David Hiller, he's in the yellow pages - probably under Hiller.

He told me if I ever need someone to call them.
That they are Great guys and would do a excellent job!
I have also heard the same from local sources.
Heaters DO blow cold air at times. It doesn't mean they're not working properly. Does it blow warm air, too? If it does, it is just regulating itself.
Anyway, my A/C-Heating company is very reliable and honest. I don't have their number at my computer, but they are Cosmic A/C and Heating. They are located in Stafford, but they work all over the Houston area (I live in NW Houston by Willowbrook Mall.) Their owner is named Rocky. Usually he'll come or send his son. Tell them that "Sue" from Pemberwick Park referred you.

I would like to suggest my cousin. He used to work for ARS,but has recently been laid off due to the current economy issues .He is trying to work side jobs at this time and has his own equiptment /work van . His name is Arthur ,he is very good at what he does,and a very honest guy. 832-208-7862. He works on all the families units when we need him. I wouldn't refer him if i truly didn't think he was good at what he does. Besides that i'm sure you will get charged less than if you were to call a company.

I highly recommend Burnett Services 281-646-1388... They are based in West Houston/Katy. When my A/C went out, they were quick to respond, the cost was reasonable and the service techs were wonderful!

Not sure where you are, but we use Universal Air - Stan Brandt is the owner. He is VERY honest & out of Universal City in the San Antonio area. Don't have the # on me, but I believe he is also a Christian. Good luck!
If you're in the Woodlands/Spring/Conroe area, I recommend Hal Watson. They are great. I've been using them for years--our last house had an old system and they did everything they could to keep it working, even came out on July 4th weekend. Now we have a different house with a new system, I still use them to service the system every spring and winter.
If you're in Houston, try Air Champion, 281-440-8077. They've been good for me for several years and several houses!
I highly recommend ARS. They do not try to rip you off and they come fast! We have used them for the last 4 years for various issues around the house.
