I have well water. Are Fluoride drops necessary?
Give your dentist a call to get the best information. It is important for strong, healthy teeth, but don't over due fluoride drops as it can hurt their teeth as well.
Not to get off the subject but watch your baby's temp. closely high temps can be harmful to both baby and permanent teeth.
Again, ask your dentist!
I believe when my parents moved to house w/ a well when my sister was little they had to have the water tested before she was prescribed fluoride. My children have gotten fluoride from 4 months on and my oldest has only had one small cavity from his lack of flossing when I am busy putting his little brother to bed and can't supervise where my cousin whose little ones were never given fluoride has a 3 year old w/ a mouth full of cavities and now after the fact has been started on fluoride. So I do think its worth looking into.
I suggest you think long and hard before giving fluoride to a baby. It is a poison.
Sodium Fluoride is nothing more (or less) than a hazardous waste by-product of the nuclear and aluminum industries. In addition to being the primary ingredient in rat and cockroach poisons, it is also a main ingredient in anesthetic, hypnotic, and psychiatric drugs as well as military NERVE GAS! Why, oh why then is it allowed to be added to the toothpastes and drinking water of the American people?
Our pediatric dentist had us test our well water before prescribing flouride. I would talk with the dentist about pros and cons.

Make sure you have no fluoride in your water!!! But I find it necessary! Ask your dentist!

I've answered this question before.
Our well water didn't have fluoride. Our pediatrician prescribed fluoride tablets. My son's adult teeth came in discolored.
Our dentist told us that he could have gotten enough fluoride in the tiny amount of toothpaste used.
I'd just use fluoridated toothpaste and skip the prescription.

I suggest talking to a toxicologist rather than a dentist. Fluoride in any amount is a toxin. The EPA has recognized it as a gold standard developmental neurotoxin; it is known to cause neurological defects in those exposed to it before birth or during early childhood. This effect has been confirmed by a hundreds of animal, epidemiological and case studies and reports - even at levels added to our water supply, .7 ppm. EPA scientists have recommended that the goal for fluoride in water should be 0 ppm.

Well the test showed we do have some fluoride in our well water.It’s less than the amount regular tap has, but I have decided not to give the additional drops. If there was no FL2 in it then maybe I would reconsider. Fluoride is NOt toxic in small amounts. With the amount in foods, and toothpaste I think she will have plenty.
