Apraxia of Speech? Where do I go next?

Hello,
My child has been in the Early Intervention program since he was very young becasue he could not roll over, had weak muscle tone (hypotonia) and some other sensory issues especially being very sensitive to loud noises. He is 2 years and 2 months old now and is very social, makes great eye contact, shows empathy, constantly seeking relationships with others. His doctor has ruled out Autism or even PDD but he is still dealing with the sensory issues and the hypotonia, His speech therapist and OT are suspecting that it could be APraxia of Speech. I've bought the book the "The Late Talker" and have read it cover to cover. I'm going to start the Fish Oil Supplements as soon as possible. I have a couple of questions (1) We have been doing the Wilbarger Protocol Sensory Brushing and I'm wondering if this is effective treatment for APraxia or if I'm wasting my time (2) Other than the late talker book, what other reasources are out there? Where do I go next, Although he does not have an official diagnosis yet, I must say that I think my gut instint is telling me that this is it and I want to be pro-active as possible! Any advice! Thank you Ladies

Hi Ann, I have a 5 year old son with similiar problems and then some. The doctors and early intervention people did not know what he had. I went to a developemental pediatrician in Philadephia. We finally found out from her and a genetics doctor he had a partial chromosome deletion in his 13 chromosome. You might want to try a top notch specialist in your area. There is usually a long wait but it is worth it.Keep him in school/intervention programs in the mean time. It is better to get a diagnosis so they know how to treat and teach him.Jill L.
