Is anyone interested in or know of a babysitting co-op? I'm a single mother who would love to find one. I have a beautiful 8 year old boy who is very social.
The best I can suggest is that you start your own. My husbands parents had one when they were in college and basically came up with a point system. They got a point a kid each time they babysat a child and they took away a point a child each time they needed someone to babysit. And this would be multiplied by the number of hours you needed. So if you babysat my 6 for an hour you'd get 6 points, and if I babysat your one for 6 hours we'd be even. Realistically you will probably mostly have folks that will have one or two children, so it will probably be more evenly matched. Find friends maybe through your son's school...take some time to make friends...you'll find folks who are probably in your same position.
