I will celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary in November.
I would like to do something romantic here in St. Louis. Since I'm a caregiver, we feel more comfortable doing something for the weekend instead of traveling away for a week.
Can you suggest something romantic to do for the weekend or place to visit/stay for the weekend?
my husband and i took a one night trip to a place called Sybaris. you can read about it on www.sybaris.com
it was about a 4 hour drive into Illinois from St. Louis. Our room had a private hot tub and sauna. fireplace. mirrors everywhere. it was very romantic.
there isn't anything else around there. We had dinner at The Courtyard Bistro - a nice restaurant in their historic district. other than that, you had olive garden and mcdonalds to choose from.
hi, you might try a bed and breakfrast. augusta is nice this time of year. ste. genevieve or washington, mo have several bed & breakfasts. all the towns have fun little shops to visit and restaurants, etc.. i hope this helps.

My husband and I went to the Howard Johnson hotel at Lindbergh and I-270. They have four different themed rooms, and each include a nice jacuzzi tub. They've always been nice enough to let us look at the rooms to see which theme we wanted. We like the Taj Mahul Room. They also have Hearts Afire, which was a little too much for us, the Metropolitan room, and one other. They have a dvd player in the room, so you could take some movies with you. That might be a place to at least look into.
LaShaunda,
It depends on what you like to do. The St Louis and surrounding area has a lot to offer! I would suggest spending one or two nights in a bed and breakfast. We stayed in one last year in downtown St. Charles, MO and loved it! It was relaxing and the area was great. Another great place to go is Herman, MO to the wineries. I know you can't drink but they have the fake stuff for pregnant women :) Herman, MO isn't too far and it's a wonderful area to go to relax. If you're thinking of somewhere more public, I think spending a night in a hotel is nice also. There are some nice ones in the St Louis area. Spending time together is nice and relaxing and I totally understand not wanting to travel very far. Feel free to contact me if you'd want more info on the places I suggested or want any other ideas :) I'd love to help!

I want to thank you for your responds. I talked with the hubby and he just doesn’t get the bed and breakfast concept. I did get a friend to watch the children for the weekend. So I’m thinking of doing something romantic at home.
