Is She Teething?

Good morning, I think my five month old might be teething. She is showing all the typical signs, except a swollen gum yet. She is more fussy and even pulling on her ear. I have given tylenol. It seems to help. Does anyone have any good tips or ideas for teething process? What should i expect? Thanks- reb

5 Year Old Snoring

My 5 year old son snores horribly at night. I have spoken with the peditrician numerous times and he always gives me the same answer. My son has very large adnoids (whatever they are) and he says that is the cause of the problem. Thankfully,he has never had any kind of throat issue (infections..etc) so the peditrician said there is really nothing to do about it. He told me to use a humidifer, which I have always used. When he sleeps I can actually see him struggling for air. I compare it to trying to suck something through a straw that's to...

5 Year Old in Trouble!

Hi Moms, I am writing again regarding my daughter who is five and started K5 this year. If you read the previous post this is a continuance of that one. My daughter is not doing any better in K5. I spoke to another mom who is our neighbor and has a child in the same class and this mother has been in the classroom more than once and shared with me last weekend that she observed my daughter having difficulties in class. She said my daughter seemed very distracted, not focused, not interacting much with the other kids, being called down for...

I Have Had It with My 5 Year Old!!

If you guys read my post regarding my defiant 5 year old, then you know all about the tip of the iceberg. The straw that broke the camels back: she just intentionally stepped on a brand new picture frame. (why was it on the floor? it was in the corner, blocked off by the couches, in a 'safe spot' -or so I thought- so it wouldn't get knocked over or broken before I could hang it. NO ONE has ANY business even being in that corner. It was under an end table for crying out loud). I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS BEHAVIOR IS COMING FROM. I...

Daughter Terrified of Pain and Is Due for Her 5 Year Old Immunizations

Hi. My tender five year old daughter gets very worried about pain. When she had a sliver last week, she had a complete panic attack/meltdown when anticipating us pulling the sliver out with tweezers. (Including hyperventilating and eyes-rolling and nearly fainting. We never had a chance to get near that sliver.) And we did the whole calm voice, gentle distractions, giving her choices, etc. She's such a sweet, sensitive kid who can put up a huge fuss when she's worried. So the big problem lies in that she needs to get her 5 year...

$6,000 Dental Quote for My 3 & 5 Year Old Boys. Am I Being Scammed?

I'm still in shock from this afternoon's pediatric dentist visit. The dentist recommended $6,000 in "treatment" for both boys combined, stating that both have multiple cavities (6 for my 3yo, 8 for my 5yo) that he prefers to do "sedation" for, about $1500 extra, but included in the $6,000. These are all fillings, no caps or root canals or crowns or anything extreme. I can see a small clear hole in my 5 year old's front tooth and two small dark spots in the center of each back tooth in my 3 year old. Yes, we brush their teeth, but we are...
