Flu Shots?? Do We Do Them on Our Children or Not?

I would love to hear opinions on flu shots and kids. I am vehemently opposed to doing it to myself due to such severe illnesses on the years I did get the shot. My husband says no because he doesn't trust them either. Our doctors want all our kids to have them. What do we do? I feel like I loose either way in this if they get a severe case of the flu. As for my kids, they are all healthy, active, and they do get the flu each year, just manageable cases of it. But these new flu strains are quite scary. Any input would be great!

I Am a Lose for This Birthday

I'm sure a lot of you moms have gone through this so I need some help. We normally do our sons birthday parties at home because I have 12 nieces and nephews and I am very close to all of my brothers and sisters. (there are 10 of us) So this year we decide since it is his 5th birthday we wanted to do something special so we are taking him to Gatti Town in Frisco. But here is the problem he wants to invite his friends from school and with us having to pay for 9 of the 12 cousins I told him he could invite 3 friends. However all the three...

33 Week Old Infant Weaning Herself from Breast

I have exclusively breastfed my baby until we went on a trip. I wasn't able to breastfed at times in public and gave my daughter a bottle. Now, she cries at my breast (especially in the evenings and afternoon). I give her a bottle of formula and she'll gulp 5-6 oz and be very happy. We've been trying solids now for over 2 months. I desperately wanted to breastfed for at least a year but since starting solids she seems to be weaning herself from the breast and wanting the bottle. I've been taking Fenugreek the last couple of weeks and trying...

My Son Stutters

Hello all, I have a 2 3/4 year old son, Nathaniel, who has started to stutter when he's talking. He has a very wide vocabulary, but the past 2 or 3 months, he just stutters ALOT! My DF says that his brain is thinking faster than what his mouth will say, but I'm just wondering if this is normal. Thank you for your help!

Bullying at preschool...please Help!

Hi Moms, I am desperately in need of some advice, and as always I know that I can depends on you mamas out there. My 4 1/2 year old son (who is my only child) is a very happy, well adjusted, and happy go lucky boy. He is also very innocent; isn't too much into violence, and is very mild tempered. He goes to a private preschool, and there are 4 boys (incluing him) and three girls in his class (total of 7). My son had been telling me that at school he usually plays with girls, and not boys, but I didn't think much of it. When I...

Waking up Every Hour!

I'm making a request two days in a row! This site is so helpful! My 4 month old son wakes up every hour at night to eat. He is a breastfed baby so I realize he won't sleep as long as a formula fed baby, but every hour? I'm assuming that it may be the beginning of teething. He rarely will sleep a span of 4 or 5 hours. I'm okay with him waking up at night 1 or 2 times, but 4 or 5 times a night it seems. He eats well at these feedings. He may also be going through a growth spurt. I do not want to start him on any solids including...

Advice for Breastfeeding First Time Mom

My milk supply can't keep up with my 6 week old daughter's appetite. By mid afternoon I'm only able to produce approx 2oz for my 4-6oz eater. (I began pumping to gage how much she was actually eating, since by 3p.m. she would fuss tremendously on the breast.) We've started supplementing her diet with formula and have even tried thickening up expressed breast milk with cereal. I know that milk supply depends upon how often the baby feeds, how much the baby eats, etc., but it seems that my body doesn't have enough 'down time' between...
