Sleeping Without a Swaddle?

My son loves to be swaddled, but at 4 months old, he is growing too large for his swaddleme and swaddling with a regular blanket is too loose for his liking. We have been trying to get him to sleep without it (without any luck) because we know there will be a day when we wont be able to keep the swaddle closed. Even if he falls asleep in his swing or in my arms, my son will wake up as soon as he is put into his crib, unless the swaddleme is on. We would like to start using sleep sacks but cannot figure out how to get our son to sleep. ...

What to Do with My 1 Month Old

I have a 5 week old son who doesn't like to be put down but we can't live like that. I try the play mat and he cries, I try his chair and that lasts 5 min, same as his swing. He will only go in the chair & swing when he wants to fall asleep, any awake time he likes mommy or daddy to hold him. any suggestions on what to do with my 1 month old would be great.

Advice on Breaking Baby of Dependence on Swaddling

Hello, Helpful Moms. I have a wonderful 3-month old son who overall is a very good sleeper. My challenge is that he sleeps well only when tightly swaddled, but now that he is bigger and stronger, he breaks out of the swaddle too easily and wakes himself up. I am using the Swaddle-Me blankets with velcro fasteners and I swaddle him very tightly, but he can still get a hand or a foot out when he goes into the lighter sleep phase. Basically, the swaddling no longer works, and I am wondering if any of you have had experience with weening...

sleep......what Is That?

my five week old son started off life sleeping three to four hours a night. and now it seems he is only sleeping an hour and a half to two hours at a time. also, his father is not very helpful during the night time hours and is away all day, so this leaves me with an around the clock job going on two to three hours of sleep. the baby will not sleep flat on his back, which makes everything even harder. help! what can i do to help the baby sleep longer.

How Long Can I Swaddle My Baby for Sleeping?

From the day my son came home from the hospital, I've been swaddling him. I use a particular kind that velcros so he can't wiggle out of it. It's been a God-send because he has always slept so well (not that that is the soul reason...). My question is: He's almost 3 months old. When is it time to put the swaddle away? They make them for up to 22 pounds, so I'm guessing it's okay still. I tried to do away with it and he kept waking up crying.

A Binky Problem...

My daughter is just over a month old and I cannot get her to sleep at night. She seems to fight it. She gets so grumpy around 8 pm so I try putting her to bed. First we rock until she falls asleep so then I take her and lay her in her pack n play. (she is still sleeping in my room) As soon as her binky falls out she starts crying. She will continue to cry until I go in and put it back in her mouth. I have tried to let her fall back asleep on her own but she just gets so upset that it doesn’t happen. We go through the binky ordeal...
