Stopped Nursing and Baby Can't Comfort Herself to Sleep

This is a two part request, but anything info is appreciated...I have nursed my baby for almost a year. She will be 1 on the 27th. I had to stop today because she has bit my nipples so much I am too sore and injured. Unfortunately, I have nursed her to sleep this whole time. I tried to put her down for a nap without nursing, but she wouldn't sleep. I have before several times tried the cry it out method, but she thrashed around the crib so much, she would hit her head. I also haven't given her too much baby food because it was always...

Four Month Sleeps in Swing

My four and half month old daughter has always been a really bad sleeper. She needs constant movement to stay asleep. She has been sleeping in a cradle swing for almost two months now. We know she is going to eventually grow too big for the swing but we have tried everything ween her. We recently saw the pedi who was visibly appalled that she is still sleeping in a swing. She will sleep in her crib (at night and during the day) for exactly 40 minutes and then wake up. We have tried music, rocking ,jiggling , bouncing, reading, noise...

Colic Baby Help Please!

Hey mamas! My good friend has a 9 wk old son with really bad colic. He was born 5 wks early but didn't have any problems and has caught up in weight. He seems to have bad gas and reflux which makes things worse. She's been nursing and giving him formula to keep his weight on. I feel so sorry for her because he wakes up sometimes every hour at night and cries all the time. I can't give much advice because my daughter never had these issues. She's tried gripe water, Highland's colic tablets, he's on reflux medicine, and she...

Daughter Does NOT Sleep!!

I am 8 months pregnant with my second, and my first who is 2 years and 3 months old will not stay asleep. Until 3 days ago, we co-slept. But due to her night awakenings - every 1 to 1.5 hours through the night - I have not slept for longer than 1 hour snatches with a total of about 3-4 hours of sleep per night for the past 2 years and 3 months. She is currently in her bed and excited about it, but now instead of having her sleep on top of me through the night, I have to wake up and walk to her bed every 1-1.5 hours through the night. My...

Newborn Using Me as a Pacifier?

Just wondering if anyone has ideas to help me get my 2 week old (who is primarily breastfed) to stop using me as his pacifier? He won't take an actual pacifier, we've tried all different shaped ones with no luck in finding one he'll use for more than 2 minutes. It seems to mostly happen at night before bed, after feeding a lot in a couple of hours and he seems to not get full so he'll even get 2 oz of formula to help but he won't stop until I breastfeed him more until he's asleep. I wouldn't think he'd be hungry unless it's because he...

Twins in Seperate Class Rooms

My six year old girls are identical twins and very close. I requested that they be in the same class room for kindergarten, and the request was honored. I requested that they be in the same class again this year for first grade, and the request was not met. The class assignments were not listed until Friday afternoon, and we didn't have time to go by the school and check them out. So, we did not know until this morning (the first day of school) that they were in seperate classes. I asked the principal about it, and she said that they...
