Time to Wean???

I'm having trouble deciding if I should wean my 10-week old baby girl. I feel that my reasons are totally selfish and that I'm not doing what's best for her. We've had all sorts of trouble breastfeeding, but I kept at it. She had such a strong suck that my nipples had open wounds, though the lactation consultant said it was a good latch. And she ate so slow it was taking 45 minutes or longer. Then my milk was low and she was loosing weight, so I had to supplement with formula or expressed milk. Now I pump for every feeding. She also...

Is This a Food Allergy

My daughter is 6 weeks old and has a "rash" on her face. It seems to come and go. After she feeds (Similac Advanced w/ Iron) it gets red. About 20 min later it's just bumpy. It started on her cheeks and is now on her eyebrows and ears and a little on the back of her neck. It is really rough feeling. My doctor said to put Aquaphor on it and keep a food diary to see if it's a food allergy. It's really not workng. We have a 8 week appointment in a week and a half. It's just bugging me.

Homemade Vs. Jar Baby Food

Me again ;) Hey Moms! I make my own baby food for my daughter. Steamed veggies and fruits, blended. I did this with my first as well. My mother keeps saying "I believe in the jar foods" she thinks they have more added vitamins and such. Does anyone know if this is true? Or is this just old school talk? She was also close minded about the breastfeeding too. So, I'm just curious what you all think? Does Mom still know best? And no worries, I won't let her sway my decision ;) Thanks!!!

Anyone with Experience Using a FOOD MILL for Making Stage 1 Baby Food??

Has anyone had success in making stage 1 consistency baby food with a food mill? If so, what brand/model food mill did you use? How did you prepare the food prior to putting through the mill? So far, I have had no success in making strained baby food and I would like to because of the nutritional benefits and to save $$. I have heard of the Kidko brand food mill, but it seems so cheap that I can't believe it really works. I recently purchased a nice stainless steel food mill that cost around $30.00 from bed bath & beyond. I...

Babies R Us... No Receipt No More Return Policy

Hi Ladies, Well I just had a baby boy 6 weeks ago. I received some gifts that I would like return. So today I went to Babies R Us to return the items. Almost all the items were Kola baby items (that is Babies R Us trade name) I had a monthly picture frame that just wanted to exchange being it was scratched and cracked, 2 bibs, and a overall short and shirt oufit. All of these items were Kola baby items. I also wanted to return this tub side seater thing as my bathroom is to small and the toilet is to close to tub for this thing to fit....

Seeking Information on Breast Feeding

I am due in Nov with my first child. I plan on breastfeeding, however I know I have to go back to work unfortunatly so I plan on pumping and also bottle feeding (Letting Dad do some of the feedings/ work too). I see that the hospital and Babies R Us offers breastfeeding classes, should I take something like this or is it a waste of money? If you have taken a breastfeeding class can you explain a little to me what its about? Is this something my husband should go to with me?
