Is Baby Bjorn Bad??

I just read in someone else's post that she was looking for a new carrier because she heard the Baby Bjorn was bad for the baby's spine. I carry my 4 1/2-month old daughter in a Baby Bjorn several times a week on our morning walk, so hearing it might be bad worried me. Does anyone have more information about this? Thanks!!

Am I Spoiling My Baby??

I am a first time mom to a beautiful 5 week old daughter. My husband and I were told by our pediatrician that we should let her cry so we don't spoil her. I was always taught that when a newborn cries that you should tend to them because they are crying for a reason and not for attention. She does like to be held when she sleeps and tends to wake up after putting her down for 10-20 minutes during the day but she sleeps fairly well (well for a 5 week old) at night. Her GI track is still adjusting - she has bouts of 24-36 hours of...

My Crazy Birth story...can I Hear Yours?

Hey Mamas So, my due date with my second daughter was the 18th of September. I was at my doctors on the 7th and was at 3cm dilated...which was about right where I was with my first daughter, who was born on her due date. Then on Tuesday the 13th, I woke up at 6am with contractions...stayed in bed for awhile to make sure they continued, then got up at timed them to be about 7 mins apart. I waited until 8am to call my midwives and they had me come in to get checked. We dropped the 6 year old off at first grade, then headed to the midwives...

Loosing Pregnancy Weight While Breastfeeding

Hello moms, I gave birth to two beautiful sons in June'07. During the pregnancy, I gained about 35 pounds, which is considered healthy, and was under the assumption that just as I'd give birth I'd start shedding these pounds easily and without effort. Well, it has been 7 months, and I am still at the same weight as I was one week after the labor -- $168 pounds!!! I'm breastfeeding, and we are not sleeping well yet, so I cannot really diet, but I eat very healthy (always had including during the pregnancy) (read: no chocolate, not much...

Gift for Pregnant SIL

Hello ladies! My SIL is pregnant after a couple of miscarriages and some other complications. To say we're all thrilled is an understatement! I want to get her something awesome (something helpful, beautiful or special), but it's been over 12yrs since I was pregnant and I'm clueless as to what's "out there" these days. I also hated being pregnant and have basically put those memories away and now I can't remember what I liked, needed, disliked, etc during pregnancy. Or even what I had when the kids were babies! Help me, mamas! ...
