Regressing with Baby Food

We started my 7 mo old on cereal right before 5 mos and she loved it. a few weeks later on veggies and she loved it. now at 7 mos she all of a sudden stopped and will not let anything we try to give her into her mouth. even when hungry she just tightens shut and turns her had and gets mad. she'll put a biter biscuit in her mouth so it's not that she doesn't want the food--i really think it's b/c we're trying to give it to her. i read on a peds website that this is uncommon and she should be evaluated! has anyone ever had this happen? ...

How to Stop Breastfeeding..? and Other...

I'm a stay at home 1st time mom to a beautiful 14,5 months old litlle boy. As a time goes by, I see some mistakes that I've made from the begining and now looking for some solution... Anyway, I started to look for a job and hopefuly soon I'll find something. But then I'll have to give my boy to a daycare, and that means stop the breastfeeding (the job isn't the only reason for that, I just think that by baby got enough of my milk and besides that isn't comfortable for me anymore at all). And here is a problem- he sleeps with us (my husband ...

Almost 9 Month Old with Severe Constipation

Hi, My soon to be 9 month old is severely constipated. This has been going on for about the past month. After no BMs for 5 days, I awoke to him screaming (in pain) this morning. He was pooping. He produced a moderate-large amount of very hard, ball like feces. (Sorry for all of the information). There also was blood....that I assume was caused by fissures. He is breast-fed. I have made a point to give him higher fiber foods. He gets at least two jars of pears or prunes each day. Also I have omitted all bananas. I have...

10 Month Old and Eating

Hey mamas! My 10 month old will not eat! She still pushes anything we put in her mouth out with her tongue. I am breastfeeding her and don't plan to stop any time soon, but since she isn't eating she has been waking up 3 to 4 times a night. I also have a 2 year old and we are exhausted! I guess I am looking for some suggestions on getting her to eat, i feel like we have tried everything! She would eat baby food from those packets (like Ella's Kitchen) but won't eat anything off a spoon. And the past few days she has refused that as well!...

Nursing in Public

Hi ladies! I'm looking for tips on how to nurse discreetly in public places. I have a 4 1/2 month old little boy and nursing at home is going great but I have the hardest time whenever we go out. I just dont know how to do it! I have a nursing cover (The Mommy Cover by Joia) but it doesn't seem to help much. My belly and/or back are always showing and trust me that is not a pretty site! On top of that, my little boy is so squirmy and he's always popping on and off the breast and I have to help him latch on again which isn't very easy...

How Long Do Nuby Cups Last?

Does anyone know how long the rubber on the Nuby sippy cups will last (in storage)? I have numerous Nuby cups that our daughter didn't use. We're just now trying for our second child & by the time they are old enough to use the cup (2 years), I wonder if the rubber sippy part will still be good.

Picky Eater or Just Not into Table Food?

Hi Moms. I have a super cute, funny, happy 15-month old son who loves all baby food from the jar and milk from a bottle only. We have been trying to get him to eat table food for months, but he seems to have an issue with texture. Most of the food we give him, deli turkey, chicken, steak, cheese, eggs, etc. is cut up in little cubes, so he is pretty good at trying it out (sometimes not so good). He generally picks it up, puts it in his mouth, chews it for a bit and then spits it out after sucking all the juices out. I don't mind the...

7 Month Old Refuses to Eat from Bottle

I have a 7 month old daughter who will not eat from a bottle. I have been breastfeeding. Up until about 2 months ago, she would occasionally eat a bottle of pumped milk fed to her by her dad or grandma. Now, she absolutely refuses. I was gone all day yesterday, and she went without milk for 12 hours because she wouldn't eat from the bottle. We did start feeding her some solids in the past couple months, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it. It seems like she forgot how to eat from the bottle. She will kind of chew the...

Switching Daughter to Solid Food and off of Bottles

My daughter will be a year old on Monday and I'm trying to get her used to solid food. She will eat just about anything off of our plates for as long as you will feed her. However, if I put her in the highchair and feed her solid peas, then she gets tired of eating them before she is full and then she chows down her baby food. I'm guessing this just takes time for her to get used to eating solely adult food? My other concern is that I'm not sure she should still be having bottles. I am still on formula until I go to the doctor and he...

Underweight 13 Month Old, I Did Have IUGR During Pregnancy.

I have a beautiful 13 month old baby girl. The only concern that I have is that she is very small in size for her age. She's only 13 and a half pounds. Height wise she's doing great, but it just makes her look even that much thinner. I was diagnosed with IUGR (interuterine growth restriction) during my pregnancy and was put on bed rest and saw a high risk doctor the last two months. She was born full term (38 wks buy trying to induce me although I still ended up with a c-section) at 4 lbs 12 oz. She's always been breastfed. She does...
