Safety Gate: Safety 1St Perfect Fit or the First Years Everwhere Gate

I'm buying a gate to go into my daughter's bedroom door, as we're moving her into a bed in the next couple weeks and I want to "gate" her door. I want it to be pressure mounted. I'm trying to decide between the Safety 1st Perfect Fit or The First Years Everywhere Gate (found both on Target website). Both are plastic with a translucent panel so she can't climb the gate. My key question is how easy is the pressure mounted function? Is it fairly easy to put up and take down the gate each time I enter and exit her room? Does anyone...

Breastfeeding Questions - Long Post!

Hi there moms. I am expecting baby #2 any day now and plan on BF'g. I was luckily able to do it for a year with my first, BUT it was not a pleasant experience at all. I nearly drove myself crazy trying to keep it up for a year - I hated always have to available - never getting a break, no one else could feed her, I had to travel for a funeral and pumped for 6 days straight to keep up my supply. My husband once took my little girl for the day to give me a MUCH needed break and spilled the milk so I ended up having no break, traveling 45...

Infant Drinks Formula Too Fast

My month and a half baby drinks his milk extremely too fast to the point that he starts to choke. I´ve been using the slow flow nipple and have tried different bottles with different nipples but he still does the same. He does not drink his formula peacefuly, it almost seems like he is wrestling with the bottle/nipple. We have him on alimentum by similac, since the dr. thought that his restlesness could be because of a lactose intolerance issue. Any advice?????

What to Buy

Hi. I'm expecting my second baby in a few months. I still have all the basics from my first, but I want to get a few things I wish I had gotten the first time, as well as a few things that are new or I didn't know about before. Any advise on the best brand and or what to buy and not to buy? -sling or wrap -hooter hider -bumpo chair -video monitor -a really comfy nursing chair -bottle warmer -wipes warmer -pack'n play or bassinet with changing table attachment (I used a bassinet before, but got rid of it since it was a hand-me...

Is First Years or Evenflo Breast Pumps Any Good?

When my son and daughter were born premature, the WIC offices where I lived provided a motorized Medella pump supplied from a medical supply store. Obviously this was very good. I know that Medellas are sold in Target but I also seen other brands. Is there an "off" brand ie, Evenflo, First Years, etc. that is comparable but without the price??

My 13 Month Old Is Picky, picky...picky!

My 13 month old little guy is ALL boy, except for his eating habits. Ever since he's realized he can eat what mommy is eating (to a point), that is all he wants. But then when I sit him down in his high chair, he sometimes puts the food in his mouth, then spits it out. He will drink his bottles like they are going out of style as many times as he can during the day and will throw tiny fits unless he doesn't have his bottle (whole milk of course), or get whiney until we give them to him. He will eat some foods (cheerios, pastas of every...

7 Month Old Refuses to Eat Food He Likes

My son started rice cereal at 3 months...LOVED IT, then deceided at 5 months to hate it, so I mixed it with veggies, good for a while, then spponful of cereal with a light coating of veggies did it, then HATED THAT so i switched him to Oat wich he liked for a while., then did the same thing so i would sneak it in inbetween veggie spoonfuls, and he would scream and gag himself. At 5.5 months we started fruit, he liked it for a little bit then wouldnt eat it, made a face like you gave him a whole lemon then would not open his mouth for...

Weaning from the Bottle!

I have MANY questions about the weaning from the bottles process. HELP! I know my doctor will probably help me at his one year appointment, but I'm just wondering... 1. What age did you start this? I heard 12 months, but my son is 11 months and unless he makes super human strides in 1 month, I can't see how he'd be ready!! He LOVES his bottle! 2. Did you switch directly over to whole milk or did you mix the milk and formula at first? 3. How did you do this? Drop one bottle a day? Then two? Leaving the morning and night last? ...
