6 Year Old Who Snores

My 6 year old daughter has snored for as long as I can remember. I took her to her Ear, Nose and Throat doctor and he recommended surgery to have her tonsils and adenoids removed. I know this is a common procedure but it still seems a little drastic to me. Are there any alternatives to surgery to help her snoring and get a better night's sleep?

Short Afternoon Naps

My baby has been a good napper since he turned about 5 months. He will soon be 9 months old and lately, he has been having difficulty with the afternoon naps though. No problem with his morning nap - goes don't without complaining at 9:00 and wakes up around 10:30. He has a bottle around 11:30 and lunch afterwards. We then play around the house until 1:30 where I put him down for his second nap. He always complains at this time and takes three to four visits back in his room to calm him down. He then goes to sleep. Unfortunatly, he always...

No More Morning Nap

I know that every child is different, but I'm just wondering if some Moms out there can tell me what age your child stopped taking the morning nap and how you made this transition easier? My son is almost 11 months and he sometimes won't fall asleep for morning nap. But then when I skip it and put him down for 1 afternoon nap he takes a really short nap (1/2 hour). Obviously this isn't enough because he becomes really cranky. I don't know what to do.

5 Year Old Needs Sleep!

I have a 5 year old son who is UP with the chickens every day! He is in bed by 8 or 8:30 every night. By that time at night he is TIRED and definitely is not going to bed too early! He has been getting up at 7-7:30 every morning and will not go back to bed. I don't feel this is enough rest for him. He has a snack and milk before bed, very stable night time routine. Does anyone have any tips on getting him to STAY in bed a little longer? He will not nap and does take a "quiet time" in the afternoon, where he goes into his room and...
