In Need of SLEEP

I am having a hard time getting our six month old to get to sleep. We normally rock him to sleep for a couple minutes and he would sleep for 4-5 hours at a time. Now he tends to wake up 20-40 minutes into his sleep. I know he is at the age and needs to learn to "self sooth" however I am not a fan of the Babywise method. Any other techniques that have worked would be greatly appreciated :)

Attachment Parenting & (Sudden) Pacifier Use

I know not everyone out there practices or supports attachment parenting. But for those who do, I wanted to hear some perspectives on pacifier use. We practice attachment parenting with our 9 month old son, he breastfeeds, sleeps on a sidecar mattress next to our mattress, is carried a lot and is responded to quickly. I am a part-time stay at home mom and have a part-time job, during which he has nanny share care. We are still supporting him to sleep through the night (he wakes about every 3 hours) and he needs rocking and singing (and...

He Wont "Cry It Out"

Our daily night time routing is give our baby a bath, read a book, nurse him till he sleeps, and lay him in the co-sleeper next to our bed. This usually works until about 11:30pm at night, and then i end up having to bring him in to our bed. My son doesnt know how to soothe himself. We really want to get him to be in his crib soon, but how is this possible if we cant even get him to sleep in his cosleeper. Ive tried putting my son down to just "cry it out" -- but ive let him go for about 40-45 minutes, and he doesnt tire out....he just...

2 Qs...Bouncers And Teddy Bears.

SOOOO.... 2 questions... 1~ My DD is 3 months old. Is this too young to get her a bouncer? I want to get one of those activity bouncers...She can sit on her own (she needs help getting there... but once she's sitting she is good.) and has excellent head control... She also loves to "stand" for up to 5 minutes at a time. (she is standing on her own, just uses us for balance. lol) She has a floor gym that she likes... but she gets MAD if she is laying down too long. She wants to be sitting or standing. We put her in her bouncy chair, but...

Help Stop Breatst Feeding and Get 8 Month Out of the Bed!

Love my baby girl and have no problem leting her sleep in our bed. My man has not complained at all. But I know he is not really happy with it. It is just that I can get more sleep by feeding her when she wakes up and not have to get up at night. She does not sleep in her crib at all (maybe 5-6 times). So To work on getting her to sleep on her own should I first stop breast feeding? She takes a bottle OK but will not feed herself very well with it. Sippy cups - same thing. She also eats well. I tend to hold her when I put her to sleep and...
