Help Choosing Breastpump.....manual....electric....dual....yikes

I seriously need some help choosing a breast pump, i am fairly new to the website so bare with me!! I'm not too sure which type will work best for me and my baby to be...not due until January. Should i rent one to see how things go? Buy a manual or electric? I'm looking at the Medela electric dual pump...any comments??? I know this for sure I want to breast feed as long as I can, I'm going back to work shortly after birth, and i just want to do whats best for me and baby!! Please help ladies!!

Did You Get Help from a Lactation Consultant?

So I'm thinking of making an appointment with a lactation consultant. But it is $75 bucks. Anyone use one? Is it worth it? I have low milk supply and my freezer milk supply is running out! My left breast is twice the size as my right but when I pump the last two weeks, I"m lucky if I get one ounce out of it. It seems like my baby is getting enough so it may just be a pumping problem. Annoying Comment: 'So Easy for You.'

When I delivered each of my children by 'natural' birth, I often got the comment that I was "lucky" that labor was so "easy." Ha! I was determined to go without medication, and although I was indeed lucky that the births were relatively uncomplicated, I wouldn't call them easy. Then, as I continued nursing each of my children past when my fellow working mother friends were able to, I got the same comment - "you're lucky it's so easy for you".
