Infant First Aid Needs

I'm about to be a first time mom and am curious to know what pharmaceutical-type items I should include in an infant 'first aid kit' (not things like nasal aspirator, thermometer, scissors/clippers, as I already have a kit with those items). So far I have gas drops, acetaminophen drops, A&D Ointment, and the usual bandaids/cotton balls/cotton swabs, etc.

Breastfed Infant Is Suffering from Constipation

I was wondering how any of you have dealt with an infant suffering from constipation. I have a two month old who was going No. 2 normally up until a few days ago. The first time he went once in a period of over 36 hours and has not gone since (going on 48 hours). I hear that it is very uncommon for a breastfed babies to be constipated. My first son never suffered from this. I contacted my doctor who said to insert a thermometer up you know what to help him out. I feel like there should be a less painful/uncomfortable options. Any...

What to Do with a 3 Yr. Old with a Possible Yeast Infecton?

My daughter has had what seems to be diaper rash down there, but she doesn't wear diapers, so I'm suspicious. She's complained of itching for about 4-5 days...we've tried various ointments but it doesn't seem to be getting better. Her entire area is red, inside and out. Normally, I'd take her to the doctor right away, but with the flu scare, I'm a bit anxious to take her in to a germ-filled waiting room for such a minor issue. Has anyone had a similar experience with their toddlers? Any advice? Thanks!

Baby Rash and Fever

I changed my baby's diaper yesterday (8pm) and saw that she had a major rash-sort of spot like and very sensitive and painful. I had changed her diaper about 2 hrs prior and she was fine. About 30 minutes before I changed her, I gave her homemade turkey and veggie pureed. At about 2am in the morning she started crying and when I took her she was at 100.1 (shes usually 97.9), so I gave her Tylenol and it went down to 98.7. Today, she's still at 99.7 and still has a rash, but she's eating well and playing. I feel awful. Should I be...
