Any Ideas for an Organized Housekeeping Plan?

I am looking for a way to better schedule my housekeeping duties during the day when my kids are at school, but also a way to involve them in helping too. I tend to let things overwhelm me when too many jobs are screaming, "me first!!" I get so frustrated, I end up doing something entirely different and I don't get caught up. I keep my house clean but I know I can do better on a daily basis if I had a schedule to follow.I would like to get my girls more involved in helping on a daily basis too. I've been inconsistent, so they are only...

Setting up a Household Schedule

Hi! I'm a new mom to 3 through international adoption. Son is 10, daughter is 8 and youngest daughter is 3. Wonderful beautiful children! We've been home with them for 5 months now and I am REALLY struggling to get a household schedule in order. I work full time (3 days in the office, 2 days from home). The two oldest go to public school and my husband runs his own business from home. I am finding myself nearly constantly stressed b/c my house is always dirty, my laundry is always piled up (either dirty OR clean waiting to be...

Affordable Cleaning Lady Needed

Help!!! I live in the Oak Park/River Forest, Elmwood Park, Galewood/Montclare area and just lost my cleaning lady. I am 35 weeks pregnant, and because my daughter, that is now two, came almost 4 weeks early, I was told to stay off of my feet as much as possible. This couldn't have happened at a more awful time! I was wondering if any of you know of someone who is responsible and a good worker that might have an opening for every other week. I know the services like Molly Maids are insanely expensive, so I was looking for something a...

Seeking Recommendations for Non-toxic Cleaners for Wood Floors & Stone Counters

Hi all: I'm preparing our home for the arrival of our baby girl and am seeking recommendations on non-toxic cleaners for wood floors and stone kitchen counters. Since I've been pregnant, I've noticed the strong chemical odor of most commercial cleaners for floors (like Murphy's oil or Swiffer products for wood floors) and would like to avoid exposing the baby to too many chemicals anyway. I'd love any suggestions for green products or even homemade solutions that will do the trick. Thanks in advance!
