High School Lunch

I was reading responses about high school senior traditions and I saw a few references to seniors being allowed to leave campus for lunch, and that the other students have to stay at school. Is this the norm? Where I live elementary students may leave for lunch with parents permission, and jr. high and high school are free to do as they please at lunch. I have an 18 year old daughter. She is in 11th grade, she works part time after school. She has no respect for me or my husband (her step dad).
