Anyone with an Idea of What Is Going On

Ok this is going to be lengthy, but I am at my wits end. In May 2005, I found these lumps on my back near my shoulder blades. I figured they were cysts. I went to the doctor because when I would lay down or lean back they would hurt. In August 2005, the doctor pulled fluid out of both of them. Not to be gross but it was the color of Mountain Dew. He thought that would take care of the problem. NOPE. They began leaking fluid out of the site that was pricked with the suringe. So September 2005 I had surgery to have the "cysts" removed...

Help with Weaning (Milk Allergy)

I have a 13 month old daughter who has a milk allergy. She is exclusively breastfed, and never took the bottle (no matter how many times we tried). She does take water out of a cup with a straw. I'd like to wean her. We're limited on formula's due to her milk allergy. We've tried soy formula, peptamen junior (had allergic reaction) and now elecare. She's okay with taking a sip here and there(either a sigg water bottle or a nuby bottle with handles) , but will not drink enough for me to wean her. I don't know what the problem is -...

Dentist for Year Old Baby?

I have a year old baby girl. I currently have an appointment (which I'm not certain I'm going to keep) to have her teeth cleaned. It's at a pediatric dentist - here in Raleigh. And I called them today to see what to expect during her first visit - which I thought was going to be just an examination and maybe an explination and confirmation that I'm cleaning her teeth properly - but, no - they said that a hyginist was actually going to clean her teeth. She only has six! They said I would be back there, basically holding her down while...

Need Pediatric Dermatologist And/or Ped. Allergist Recommendations

Hi moms, My 2 1/2 year old son has been on Pulmicort for asthma since Sept. He recently was able to stop the nebulizer treatments. During the course of treatment, he sometimes had a slight rash around his face. Now that he no longer takes it, the rash has become worse and has extended to his cheeks and sometimes his forehead. We are thinking that he has been allergic to something this whole time but that the steroid suppressed it. The pediatrician has given us two prescription creams that have not worked. They have been so harsh and...

Explain a Doula

I had an extremely easy pregnancy the first time around. Now as I plan for round two I am trying to understand what a Doula does. I understand that they provide support for the parents, however, I would benefit from some examples of what they actually do. My understanding is very conceptual at best.

Am I Pregnant

Ok so I took a test by first response and the negative line was dark and clear and the positive line was there but very faint. So I went and bought another test by clear blue easy and it was digital and it literally said the word PREGNANT so I do believe I am pregnant because of that since I have been told that you cannot get a false positive only a false negative. Anyways here is where I get confused, my husband this morning after the first test with the faint line knew that I wanted to confirm with a second test, so he did not know that I...

Is It a Milk Allergy or Lactose Intolerance? Should I Do What the Ped Says?

My daughter turned one year old on July 1st and we started giving her cow's milk around that time. I think she has a milk allergy because she gets a red rash on her face almost immediately after drinking milk or eating cheese and she has large amounts of loose stool a few hours later. We stopped the cow's milk and started soy milk about 2 weeks ago. I saw her pediatrician today and kind of feel like he is minimizing the situation. He thinks that she is just lactose intolerant because she was able to tolerate foods that have SMALL...
