Seeking Advice on Helping a 2 Year Old Give up the Pacifier

My son turned two in June and we decided two weeks ago to take away the pacifier. He initially had little to no problem with it. He asked for it a couple of times but we told him no and he only cried a little. He never used to cry or act up when we put him to bed and now he throws a fit. He wants water and food and books and toys and.... I am wondering if this just happens to coincide with his age or if he has a tough time due to not having the pacifier and just doesn't know how to sooth himself yet. Any suggestions???

Home Party Ideas

Hello Mamas - My baby girl is turning 6 in July and has asked to have her party at home. Which is fine, except that I don't know what to do with a group of 10 6 year olds for 2 hours. My princess wants to set up our slip and slide (which isn't really a slip and slide it's a tarp that their daddy truned into one) and just play in the yard. But I'm scared that won't keep them happy enough. We have a kids sprinkler that I could also turn on. But would it be OK to just have these kids come over to play in our couple of water toys, eat cake...

Birthday Party and Potty Training Help

My Son will be 3 in a couple fo days and he is potty trained. he is trained in the sense that he doesn't mess in his pants. if I tell him to go potty he will go in the bathroom without a problem so I know he isn't scared of it. My problem is that if he goes on his own, he goes in the closets. he will pull down his pants and pee or poo in the closet. I am sick of cleaning it up. I have tried putting him back in diapers, but he will take those off as well. I am at a loss. My other Question is about his birthday party. My friends daughter...

Do you ladies think I should wait a few more months than try again? When I go to the bathroom and he goes in there with me and gets some toliet paper and acts like hes wiping him self. Transitioning Out of Baby Bath Tub

My question today is about transitioning out of the infant bath tub. Does anyone have any suggestions? She hasn't fully outgrown the tub, but she will be very soon. My husband has back problems, so he doesn't really want to move her into the big bathtub as he will have to miss out on bathtime, but we can't think of much more. We have talked about the sink, but she freaks out when she sits in there. Do they still make the bath rings for babies? Any other ideas on how to deal with transitioning so that daddy can still help? Thank you...

Three Year Old Will Not Sleep!!

My three year old daughter has never been a good sleeper. She did go thru a phase when she was in the early part of her second year where she slept well but other than that it has always seemed that nothing gets her to sleep. some nights are livable where she plays in her room, makes a couple requests, and falls asleep around 10 (Bedtime is at 7:30!). But many other nights she refuses to go to sleep. We have the same bedtime routine every night: pjs, brush teeth, read a story, put her brother in his crib, then i snuggle with her in her bed....
