Exzema/dry Skin on My 22 Month Old

my daughter has dry skin all over. Drier patches on her elbows and the back of her arms, her thighs and calves. She scratches her tummy and her upper and lower back often. I have tried lots of creams and stuff and nothing seems to work well. We use cortizone for the itching but her skin is still ALWAYS dry. Is there a different cream that you have used succesfully. I have also thought about putting her on an Omega 3 childrens supplement.

Did You See the News on Statins?

i have very high cholesterol. i took lipitor for about a year (many years ago now), developed muscle pain, persistent weight gain and brain fuzziness. the doctor insisted lipitor had no bad side effects, but i quit taking it, and while my cholesterol skyrocketed again, the side effects went away. then the news came out that *sometimes* muscle pain could be serious symptom, and oh yeah, that liver damage thing. a couple of years ago my (former) nurse practitioner screamed at me, up in my face, because despite my risk factors i refused to...

Zyrtec and Behavior

I have a 6 year old daughter who has allergies which seem to crop up this summer. I've given her Zyrtec for the last few weeks and am noticing some horrible behavior changes in her. I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience and if they could be related. She has always been an independent child, but this is a whole new level of bad behavior. I just started to wonder if it could be the Zyrtec. This is her first time on Allergy Meds.

ZYRTEC - Is It Safe?

Our pediatrician has suggested Zyrtec for my son's allergies. Anyone heard anything about this medication, or used it themselves? I have heard it works better than other allergy medications, but I have also heard it has detrimental side effects. I hate giving my son medication and like to avoid it as much as possible. Any stories, suggestions, advice, is greatly appreciated. Thanks moms!

22 Month on Albuterol for More than 2 Weeks

My son was hospitalized over 2 weeks ago for his breathing issues. When he got out we went about a week and a half with albuterol treatment about twice a day. When I was certain his breathing was back to normal I stopped the treatment. The very next day he is sick again and I noticed really fast breathing timed his breathing and he was over 40 breaths per minute, did a breathing treatment and called the pediatrician in the morning. He added a month steroid given through the nebulous or and children's Allegra and said continue with the...

Almost 5 Month Old on Zyrtec and Pulmicort

My baby is normally a happy child. She has been wheezing a bit so they put her on both meds. I guess it is just the season, I had to hit my own inhaler yesterday. But five months old is still so young, especially with the Pediatrician saying they don't normally diagnose asthma til about 9 months. The zyrtec seems to burn her throat, so i've taken to mixing it with a teaspoon or so full of milk. She has only had two days worth of the pulmicort. She fought like a trooper yesterday with that mask on, so today i tried propping her up...
