Car Seat for Air Travel for 3.5 Yo

We're flying with our 1 yo old and 3.5 yo. The 1 yo will be on my lap. We will check his car seat. Question is: do I use a car seat for the 3.5 yo. He's pretty tall, about 42" and about 40 lbs. His car seat seems huge (Graco Nautilus) and I can't imagine him having any room. We will probably check his car seat anyway for driving around but I can't imagine using it on the plane. A friend said that she uses a booster for her 4 yo (who is smaller than my 3.5 yo) but I don't think that is approved by the FAA. I guess it's up to the...

Baby Carrier, Sling or Ergo?

I have a very active 2.5 year old son and am expecting baby #2 in mid-October. I'm thinking that I will need and make good use of a baby carrier, sling or Ergo carrier. Can anyone give me their feedback with which type(s) of gear they used: did you prefer a carrier vs. sling, for example? Any advice on what types to look for or what to avoid?

14 Month Old Won't Sleep

My 14 month old son has not slept for more than an hour at a time for the last 6 weeks. At first we thought it was because it was he was getting all 4 of his molars but now they are through and it's still happening. I feel like we've tried everything motrin, teething tablets, gripe water, chamomile tea, music, sound machines, the baby carrier (ergo), bringing him into our bed, letting him cry but no matter what he does not sleep for more than an hour and wakes up screaming. When we pick him up he does not stop crying so I don't think he...

Best All Around Sling

I'm looking for advice on the best sling for a newborn on up. I used the standard Baby Bjorn with my daughter, which she loved. However, my back didn't love it. I thought about the new Baby Bjorn Air Carrier, however, I would also like to have something that cradles the newborn (sling) but can be converted to a sitting up carrier later. So far the one I see that offers a sling type deal (and can easily breastfeed discreetly) that converts to a carrier like the Bjorn is the Ergo Baby Carrier. Has anyone tried it? Any other recommendations? I...

Ergo for a Toddler?

Hi Moms! I am seeking that perfect baby carrier for traveling abroad. For those Moms that own an Ergo, do you still use it for toddlers? Would it be comfortable to have a 30+ pound baby in it for day long trips? I am deciding if I should get an Ergo or go more substantial and get a Deuter Kid Comfort III. Any suggestions?

Migraines, Headaches, Facial Pain, Fatigue - UGH! Dr's Can't Find Anything Wrong

I'm sorry this is a bit long & I know this isn't a medical board but I'm hoping maybe someone will recongnize these symptoms? I've been having facial pain, migraines, either a runny nose or a stuffy nose, and fatigue on and off again for the past 13 years. I don't always have all the symptoms at the same time or to the same degree but the runny or stuffy nose seems to be a daily thing so does the fatigue. I went to the doctor for the fatigue and they did a blood test but it didn't reveal anything. About 7 years ago, my MD told me...

My son is 14 months old and not walking in his own. He hangs on to furniture, etc. he sits with his left leg bent and to his side. Does Does this have something to do with the ergo? I wore him a lot to breastfeed and sleep.
