Looking for a Bakery in South Bay Area (Between S.J. and Palo Alto)...

I have been looking for a bakery that makes great birthday cakes....cakes that taste great and look great (I traditionally design my own cake decorations and purchase my own items to be placed on the cake -- offering the baker the layout of the cake on paper). I went to Fuji Bakery in Sunnyvale for several years (now closed, gone), Wilson's Bakery in Santa Clara (gone now), Aki's Bakery in San Jose (but not too impressed the last year, after new ownership)...and recently went to the local grocery store (Andronico's) for a birthday cake ...

Baby Backpack / Carrier

Has anyone used a baby backpack - the kind with the aluminum frame that you can use to take the baby hiking, etc? Can you recommend brands or types, comfort level, etc etc? We're going to look into getting one and I have no idea which are good/bad etc. Also - if you have one that you are looking to sell please let me know type and price. Thanks!

Back Pack Carriers Which Is the Most Comfortable?

I aleady have 1 back carrier but it is not comfortable at all. I will be needing a new one for this spring. I operate a vegetable stand and will need to carry my baby with me to take care of the stand as well as pick veggies from the garden. So he will need to be in the carrier for 1-2 hours. He already weighs 17 lbs and is only 4 months old so the carrier needs to be comfortable for a heavy kid. I have a couple of mai tai carriers that I have made and they are super comfortable for carrying in front but so far very uncomfortable on my...

Need to Pick a Carseat and a Stroller

I am looking for a sturdy, but light weight, stroller that will recline into a completely flat position. I am really suprised that I am having a hard time finding this. All of the strollers that recline flat seem really heavy and cumbersome and the lighter weight ones seem to only recline about 3/4 of the way. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone have any consumer report info on car seats? We still need to buy that as well. thanks a bunch!! D.

Help with Infant Carrier!

Oka, with my first child I purchased the Evenflo Snugle Comfort Vent soft carrier. I carried him around in this all the time. Never any problems. My 4 month old is a different story. I have used the carrier with her twice so far. The first time I notices small bluish.red marks on her lower legs but didn't know what they were from. Well, this weekend I used it again and when I took her out I immediatly saw a bunch of these marks. It appears to me as if it was cutting off her circulation or breaking blood vessels. Needless to say, I will...

Double Stroller Is It Worth It?

I am a mom of 2 year old boy and pregnant with a little girl. She is due in February and he turns 3 in February. I have heard mixed thoughts when it comes to getting or needing a double stroller. I know they are bigger and bulky so I am wondering if you actually use them as often as you think you will. Is it a necessary purchase? Buy new or used? If you think it is a definite must let me ask this... Is it better to get a side by side stroller or not? And what about the sit and stand strollers? Any brand/model recommendations? ...
