Need Help with Playards...

My first question is: does anyone know up to what age before an infant/baby can start sleeping in a bed and you can use a playard for them to sleep in up until then? The reason why I'm asking is: I want to get my Mom either a Playard (Ex. Graco pack n' play) or an Arms Reach Co-Sleeper for her to use when I go to visit her or when she babysits for my baby to sleep in until at least he/she can sleep in a bed, which I believe is around 1 1/2 to 2 years old depending on the child obviously. My Mom only has a small apartment and can't...

Out Growing Arms Reach Co-sleeper, What Now?

Our daughter is now 6 months and has been sleeping in an Arms Reach co-sleeper since birth and has always started out the night there except the first few weeks. I recently figured out how to nurse in bed on my side (about time!) and she wakes at about 4am to nurse and I have been bringing her into bed and feeding her and then she sleeps the rest of the night in bed...

Best Changing Table Style? One with Rails or One on Top of a Dresser?

My husband and I are getting ready to purchase baby furniture for our first baby. I'm not sure what style of changing table is best/safest/most convenient. I'm leaning toward the kind that is "built" on top of a dresser where the baby gets strapped in on top of the foam changing pad, but I've also seen the tables where there are rails on all four sides with the shelves underneath. The dresser style one appeals to me because I envision being able to use the dresser without the changing table aspect in the future. I'm looking for that...
