11 Month Old Allergic to Dairy and Weaning from Breastfeeding

Hello, My 11 month old son has been exclusively breastfed (he takes breast milk from a bottle at day care). I would like to work on weaning him in the next couple of months, however, I don't know what to wean him onto. I know that babies normally go to whole cow's milk, but he seems to be allergic to dairy. He developed a contact skin rash on his face and constipation when I introduced yogurt at 7 months. A couple of weeks ago, I was short on breast milk so without thinking I sent him to day care with some milk-based formula that had...

Calling Moms of Children with Food allergies....what Is Your School's Epi Policy

Hi Moms: My son has a peanut allergy. Like many of you we carry and Benadryl, epi pen and albuterol inhaler everywhere. No problem, I just carry a bigger bag.:) Here's my question: I signed my 5 year old son up for a very reputable camp this summer. Their allergy response policy is unlike any I have ever encountered. His allergy action plan calls for Benadryl, epi & inhaler in that order if needed. The camp will ONLY administer the epi pen. They will NOT administer Benadryl and he has to self administer the inhaler. I find this to be...

Baby with Food Allergies - Any Advice Appreciated

We've just found out that, after an allergy test, our 10 month old is allergic to eggs, wheat and dairy. He had a severe allergic reaction and rushed to ER after eating a minute amount of egg. He quickly recovered but now we're looking for any advice from anyone with a similar experience. Any ideas on what to feed our little guy to make his diet more interesting and without any risks would be greatly appreciated. Anyone who has experience with Epi pens and how many do you prefer to keep on hand.

Food Allergies, Picky Eater and Nutrition

My son is nearly 14 months old, 19.5 lbs, 28" tall and low on the growth curve. He is anaphylactic allergic to eggs, dairy, wheat, avocado and tomato. We have epi pens everywhere. We are having issues trying to feed him more calories to make him grow (my family are not short at all) and he's a very picky eater. We went to see a dietician but it wasn't much help - they only suggested adding an extra scoop of formula to his bottle (next step soy enfamil). He was exclusively breast fed for one year and feeding him soy makes me nervous too...
