Alternative Treatment for Hives

Hello fellow mommies. My 11 month hold daughter has the hives. Her doctor said it's from something she ate, but we are not 100% sure of exactly what caused her to break out. The treatment recommended by her pediatrician is liquid Children's Benedryl. I gave her this for five days, which after the third day I noticed a decrease in the hives. I'm on day number five of drugging her up and she is still not completely rid of the hives. Now he's suggesting I switch her to liquid Zyrtec. Has any other mommy out there had positive results...

Had Success in Treating Ezcema Without Steroids?

My baby is 7 mo old now and he has had ezcema for two months now. It has gotten progressively worst. I was able to manage it with eliminating foods he is alergic to from my diet (still breastfeeding). He is alergic to milk, eggs, peanuts and almonds (as far as skin test can tell!). I am pulling my hair out as we speak - I've been on a strict diet for two weeks now without ALL theese and his condition is getting worst. He is oozing horribly at night and itchy - progressively in the past 4 days. Benadryl does not seem to help. Has anyone...

Moving to Milk

My daughter is approaching her 1st birthday so I am looking into switching her over to milk. I was wondering if any mom's have tried goat milk instead of cow? I am thinking about this option because, while as a kid cow milk didn't bother me; it tears up my stomach now. My mother also can't do dairy. I have no problem with cheese, yogurt and ice cream leave me a little gassy, and drinking regular milk means bad gas. (I hope this isn't TMI.) Anyway, I heard goat milk is easier to digest so I am considering switching my daughter to it. ...

Pulmicort - Steroids for Asthma/Lung Issues

Do any of you have children who have taken Pulmicort or another steroid for asthma/lung issues. My son was born 3 months premature and therefore had immature lungs. In addition he had a chest tube for a pneumo-thorax and pneumonia all in the first two weeks of life, came home on oxygen, etc. This was all a year ago and he's doing incredible. Has been off of oxygen since April. All of that said, he is struggling with weather changes and the cold and flu season. A tiny cold leads to wheezing and bronchiolitis almost every time. My doc...
