How to Stop Breastfeeding..? and Other...

I'm a stay at home 1st time mom to a beautiful 14,5 months old litlle boy. As a time goes by, I see some mistakes that I've made from the begining and now looking for some solution... Anyway, I started to look for a job and hopefuly soon I'll find something. But then I'll have to give my boy to a daycare, and that means stop the breastfeeding (the job isn't the only reason for that, I just think that by baby got enough of my milk and besides that isn't comfortable for me anymore at all). And here is a problem- he sleeps with us (my husband ...

What Is the Best Brand for Bottles? Avent?

Hey there. We are pregnant with our third baby and looking for what kind of bottles we want to buy. I have heard good things about the Avent bottles, but before I make any purchases I would love to know what kind of bottles you used for your baby and if you liked them or not. Thanks so much! :)

Nursing in Public

Hi ladies! I'm looking for tips on how to nurse discreetly in public places. I have a 4 1/2 month old little boy and nursing at home is going great but I have the hardest time whenever we go out. I just dont know how to do it! I have a nursing cover (The Mommy Cover by Joia) but it doesn't seem to help much. My belly and/or back are always showing and trust me that is not a pretty site! On top of that, my little boy is so squirmy and he's always popping on and off the breast and I have to help him latch on again which isn't very easy...

Alternative to the Sippy Cup?

My son is 8 months old and I want to start introducing the cup; however, I have read so many negatives about using a sippy cup. Is there an alternative to the sippy cup? I have seen articles about using straw cups but I wanted to know what others have used or if the standard is the sippy cup.

Weaning from Bottle

My son is 1 year old and was a breastfeeding baby up until 11 months old. We supplemented with formula, which was given in a bottle. Now at 1 year old, I want to begin weaning the bottle from him. He takes it only in the morning upon waking and after bath time before bed. He drinks from sippy cups, but refuses to take the milk from the sippy cup. I tried to wean the AM bottle first by using the sippy, but he takes two to three sips and then he is done....but if i put it in a bottle, he will drink the whole thing. I am worried if I...

Bottle Feeding Problems

Any suggestions - My 6 month old is a very picky bottle feeder, he prefers me to feed him (breast feeding) and it has only gotten worse. Friday at daycare he only ate 1 ounce in 8 hours and today he didn't eat anything in 8 hours (it usually ends up being 12 hours total from the time I feed him before daycare & the time I get him home to feed him) he does eat cereal around noon & baby food around 6, but he still needs his milk. Daycare does have 3 different types/brands of bottles to try.

Off the Formula???

I have an 11-month old who is already past his stage 3 baby food and is onto eatng what we eat, (with some exceptions). He is almost completely off the bottle and onto the sippy cup but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to when I can take him off formula. He does not often get juice and when he does its diluted. He will give him a sippy cup with just water and he drinks it just like it were the formula. I do put a bottle of just water in his crib at night in case he wakes up and hes thirsty or if he wakes up before us (as...

Tips for Breastfeeding to Bottlefeeding

Hello, I have a 6.5 week old who has been breastfed and given an occassional bottle of breastmilk when breastfeeding didn't pan out. When my husband gave her the bottle at about 3 weeks, she finished it in what seemed like seconds. Then, I was afraid of 'nipple confusion' and we didn't attempt to feed her a bottle until after the 4 week mark. Currently, she refuses the bottle and fusses & struggles. She also refuses the pacifier (spits it out). Since I will be going back to work in 6 weeks, I was wondering if anyone had any tips or...
