Help with Eczema

My 5 month old has a small patch of eczema on his cheek. I've used hydrocortisone cream, aquaphor and eucerin. Sometimes it goes away a little but always keeps coming back. It doesn't seem to be itching or bothering him, but it is scaly and red. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it. Thanks, S.

About to Throw in the Towel on Breastfeeding...

Hi Moms, Mine is a long story. When Nate was born 7 weeks ago, he was tongue-tied and would not nurse in the hospital so the lactation consultant gave me a nipple shield. After 2.5 weeks of trying to get him to latch on, we got his tongue clipped and practiced for another week. At around 4 weeks, he started latching on, although quite painfully. It got so bad that I would cry every time he latched on to the left breast and continue to cry the entire time he nursed. After some research on the internet, I figured out that we have thrush...

3 Mo Old Son Has Food Allergies

Hi moms, I am worried about my young 3 mo old. I'm currently nursing him (no trouble there), but he has a particularly bad case of ezcema on his cheeks... This has been going on for about 3 weeks. I've used eucerine calming cream, and that seems to keep the dry, scaly skin from getting too bad. The doc recommended using a 1% hydrocortisone cream, but i'm nervous since those have not been proven completely safe for infants... In the last few days though, he has had a flare up that caused him to vomit (just once after I took my calcium...

Very Dry Skin on Our 4-Month-old Daughter's Face

Our poor baby! She's been having ongoing trouble with skin on her forehead, cheeks, and chin that's so dry that it flakes off and/or gets yellow and crusty. We've been slathering on Aquaphor at night and Eucerin all day, and we use a 1% hydrocortisone cream when it gets really red and angry looking, but any improvements are temporary. Neither my DH or I have any family history with eczema, and she's still breast feeding exclusively, so it's not likely to be a food allergy. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? We're wondering if...

Eczema Not Getting Any Better ...

Hi moms, I have a 20 month old boy that has had eczema since he was a baby. It's mainly on his legs, arms, rear end and back of the neck.. ok, almost everywhere. Well we have tried a lot of different products and they only help temporarily and come back as soon as we stop using it. I have tried: Cetaphil, Aveeno, Aquaphor (currently on it), use Dove unscented soap, has 100 % cotton bedding, ... I don't think it has anything to do with food or the detergent that I wash his clothes with (ALL unscented detergent). Recently his ped...

Any Advice for Breastfeeding Mom with Acne?

Ever since getting pregnant with my second son, now 13 months, I have had terrible acne breakouts on my face and neck. I have tried Proactiv, Murad and just about every other over the counter treatment I could get my hands on because my doctor won't prescribe anything as long as I am breastfeeding. Nothing has helped, and I'm tired of feeling ugly all the time. I won't leave my house without make-up, but even that only partially masks the problem. I had planned to wean at a year and then go see my doctor for help, but neither baby nor I are...
