Epi-pen Jr. in an Airport (And Some Liquid Questions)

My 19 month old son has a food allergy and we must carry an epi-pen jr. around with us at all times. Is there any special consideration we have to take when traveling by plane? I can see security claiming that it is a weapon or something like that since there is a needle, but at the same time, it is a rescue medication that is required to be with my son at all times. Also, because my son's food allergy, he usually cannot eat food out. I will be packing him some of his favorites since we will be traveling for breakfast and lunch. Is...

Help! My Son Is Allergic to Eggs and Dairy!!

I just found out my 10 month old is allergic to eggs and dairy. He can't even be touched by someone that has had contact with either of theses things. He is eating table food just fine, however, I have to completely change his diet now and I'm at a loss!! I'm hoping there are other moms out there with this same condition that can help me with meal ideas and what brands are okay. Even if the food doesn't contain egg or dairy, it can't even be made in line that does egg and dairy. He also can't have peanuts!! Please help!!

Nut Allergic Child and Sports

Hi! I have a nut allergic son who has been having severe reactions. Recently, he had a reaction from touching my daughter's new basketball that was handed to her by an assistant at the school. I could only speculate that she may have had some nut product for breakfast and then touched the ball, which my son then touched. So, my question is how do you handle sports activities with a severely nut allergic child? If he plays any sport where he is touching equipment (ball, bat, mat, etc.) that other children are contacting and those other...

Dad Asked Me to Cat Sit for a Week/other Family Who Is Allergic Is Furious

Please help... My Dad (divorced from my mom) is going out of town and asked me to cat sit for a 1 week. He hasn't been able to find anyone else to help. My stepdad is very allergic. My mom has become a crazy person since finding out. She has told me that my stepdad will never be able to come to the house again or it will only be for very short visits. My son won't be allowed to go to their house unless I rewash ALL of his clothes, jackets, etc. My question... is she over-reacting? I would never GET a cat knowing the situation, but is...

Any Mom's Out There with Babies That Have a Milk or Wheat Allergy?

I would like to know how you knew, what were the symptoms and what tests were done. I suspect one of my twins might have an allergy to one or both so I set up an appt with her pediatrician next week. She mentioned running some tests. I guess I'll find out soon enough but curious about how you knew it was an allergy and what sort of tests were done. My little one is only 8 months old and started getting eczema patches on her face around 2 months ago when we started solids, particularly oatmeal. Also due to a medical condition I was diagnosed...
