Home Party Ideas

Hello Mamas - My baby girl is turning 6 in July and has asked to have her party at home. Which is fine, except that I don't know what to do with a group of 10 6 year olds for 2 hours. My princess wants to set up our slip and slide (which isn't really a slip and slide it's a tarp that their daddy truned into one) and just play in the yard. But I'm scared that won't keep them happy enough. We have a kids sprinkler that I could also turn on. But would it be OK to just have these kids come over to play in our couple of water toys, eat cake...

Camp Care Packages

I am a new mom of two "soon to be adopted" boys--ages 10 and 11. They will have their first experience with 4-H camp this summer and I wanted to send them care packages that would arrive on the first or second day they are there. What items have you put in camp care packages? Many thanks, Mamas!

Good Toys for 13 Month Olds....

What do your 13 month old kiddos like to play with? I find that my son gets bored easily with the toys that I have and is much more fascinated with "real" things, like pots and pans (which is fine) but also lots of things that he shouldn't have (ie: my cell phone, my keys, my glasses, camera, etc..). Or grabbing onto magnets and every cupboard handle we walk by if I am carrying him. I have a three year old daughter and I seem to remember it being a little easier to satisfy her. She always liked me to play with her but if I were there...

Good Places for Camping in Minnesota

We just moved to Minnesota from Colorado. My family loves camping and spending the weekends in the mountains surrounded by nature and not much else. I was hoping I could get some good recommendations for places to camp that is within 3 or so hours from the Minneapolis area. We would prefer a more wooded area and not wide open where you can see everyone in the campsite. Also, we don't have any water toys (boats, etc.) so a large lake isn't necessary. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Activities for Multiple Toddlers of Varying Ages

Hi! I am an extremely busy SAHM of 16-month-old boy/girl twins & a son who turned 3 today! My problem is I live in Phoenix, AZ & now that the summer is here we have limited outdoor play...no park, no walks, etc. We swim almost daily but other than that we are indoors. Due to the economy we are on a super-tight budget, so we don't do many pricey activities very often & it is so hot that loading everyone up in the car has to be for something worthwhile :) so we are home a lot. Unfortunately my kids love TV, but I do not!! I admit its on...

Not So Great Summer So Far.

Okay, we have had a pretty rough start to summer so far (stay in hospital followed by stomach virus, etc). So now everyone seems healthy (knock on wood) but I have no idea what to do with them. How do you keep your kids occupied during the summer break? I do not have a vehicle at the moment (unless I take my husband to work everyday) and I don't have much money, so I need to be creative, but am really at a loss. We end up in front of the TV way too often. In addition, I feel like I am always making food. This is driving me a little crazy I...

Swimming in Clarkston

I recently relocated to Clarkston from Brighton. My three year old has been taking swim lessons in Hartland with their heated leisure pool that is warmer than a normal indoor pool. It also had a zero depth entry and lots of other things that made the pool a great place for lessons (along with bearable for the parent participant) Can anyone recommend swimming lessons in the Clarkston area?
