Swimming Lessons with 10 Month Old

Has anyone ever taken swimming lessons with your baby? I thought it could be fun...she's still only 7 months but I was considering it...I'm so tired all the time that I figured it couldn't hurt to get in the water myself, even if it's not truly exercise...

Would You Be Interested in Baby Boot Camp If There Were One in the Area?

I have always really liked working out, but since I had my daughter it's harder and harder to get to the gym. So I was doing some research one night and came across Baby Boot Camp. I thought 'that's perfect.....I can work out and I can have my daughter with me and she won't have to stay in a gym daycare!!' (We tried it.....even though she goes to daycare 3 days a week, she HATED it at the gym) And most Baby Boot Camp classes are outside at a park......and my daughter, like most kids, LOVE being outside. It was a win-win for all of us. ...

Child Last Name Change, Need Help!!!

I have a daughter who was born out of wedlock. I met my husband when she was 3 mo old and we now have a daughter together. My oldest is starting school and I want her last name to be the same as ours. The original birth certificate does not have the bio dad's name on it. He has just recently started to see her. I know that he won't let her name be the same as my husband, but for the sack of our daughters we want their last names to be the same. (less chance of them getting made fum of and for simplicity reasons as well as well as the fact...

New to MN: Advice on How to Dress an Infant (And Myself) for the Winter?

We just moved from Colorado and I have questions on how to dress our 7 month old son for the Minnesota winter. Although he was born in Colorado in February, he was in the NICU for 10 days and on oxygen for 2 1/2 months with restrictions to stay in our home, so we didn't learn about clothing him through cold weather. The answers to these questions may sound silly, but I really don't know the answers. If you do, please reply. Should he wear baby long johns? If so, what brand or store do you recommend? How many layers do you dress your...

Snack Ideas for Preschool

I'm in charge of snacks once a month for my daughter's preschool. Due to choking hazards and food allergies, there's a long list of things we can't bring. We had orientation last night and didn't get suggestions, just what not to bring, which included anything with nuts, anything too sweet, raisins, hotdogs, popcorn, hard candy, etc...I need ideas for healthy snacks, help! Thanks!

How to Choose a Sport for a Pre-schooler and Toddler?

I have this question bothering me for a while. So I am posting it here so that I can get some ideas. I am a mom of 3 1/2 year old and 2 year old boys . I am wondering how to choose a sport for my young kids. l see some of my friends have enrolled their kids (same age as my older one) into lot of activities. we didnt enroll him yet thinking he would go next year along with his brother to make use of the sibling discount and to save the time and effort in drop off and pick up. But are we doing any mistake just because we want to save some...

Babies Watching T.V.

How do you feel about babies watching T.V.? My freinds daughter has been watching the Disney channel since she was 6 months old(she is 14 months now) and they tivo shows for her. I find it odd that they even put the T.V. on a kid channel when she was this young and would put her in her bouncey chair in front of it or lay her on the floor so she could see it. My oldest boy didn't even pay attention to T.V. until he was about 2 and then I started putting shows on for him my middle one never watched it until he was close to 2 alos even though...
