Ideas for Birth Control?

Grand Rapids, MI

Okay moms, I'm looking for some ideas on birth control. My husband had a vasectomy during his first marriage, which he reversed so that we could have our 2 precious boys, and now we feel that our family is complete. He's reluctant to get snipped again because as he puts it, "they've messed around enough down there" and I've been on the pill for years now, which is getting more and more expensive (with insurance continually going up!). What has worked for you? What hasn't worked for you? Thanks for all of your input!

Infant Daughter Has a Cyst on Her Chest?

Seattle, WA

My 3.5 month old daughter has what feels like a cyst, the size of a small pea on her chest, under her nipple. I just noticed it yesterday, it doesn't seem to bother her when I touch it. We have an appointment tomorrow morning with the pediatrician to check it out, but I'm wondering first if anyone has experience with this or has any ideas as to what it might be and if it needs treatment. I read online that it could be a calcification and just go away but to watch its size over time. One friend said her son had one and it went away in a month.

Infant Tremors

Kansas City, KS

I have a 5 1/2 month old son who occassionally has hand tremors. I saw our pedatrician this morning who told us it was developmental and probably not neurological but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I don't want to write it off as being nothing if it could be something more serious. I tried to get her to do further testing but she didn't seem too worried about it. It's mostly in his hands and we notice it while he is wakeful and drowsey. It typically last anywhere fromjust a few seconds to 30-40 seconds.

Infant with Itchy, Irritated Eyelids

Minneapolis, MN

My 7 month old baby has dry, red eyelids that seem to itch a lot. She's had a lot of problems with skin allergies and sensitivies, but we've gotten most of those under control using scent-free everything (lotion, baby wash, detergent, etc). Yet her eyelids remain red and she ends up rubbing them a lot, which of course makes it worse. Since the area is so close to her eyes, I don't want to put anything on her that will burn or sting if she rubs it into her eyes. I've tried to watch for connections to food she eats, but haven't seen any correlation. Plus, it's been a problem since before she was eating any solid foods. Any ideas on what could be causing the dry skin on her eyelids, and what we can do to make it better? Thanks!

Information About Echogenicity in the Left Ventricle

Houston, TX

I am 36 years old and 21 weeks pregnant with our 1st baby. Because I am over the 35 mark, I have had the Ultra Screen test as well as other blood tests to check for Down Syndrome, Trisomy, etc. All of the results have come back excellent so my doctor did not recommend doing an amniocentisis. A few days ago, we had our 5 month sonogram and everything checked out beautifully except for an echogenicity in the left ventricle. My doctor does not seem to be concerned and still does not recommended an amnio due to the fact that the risks are greater for a miscarriage than they are with our baby having down. My husband and I have researched the internet and this issue seems to be fairly common with the results being normal, healthy babies. Obviously, we are still worried and will be until the baby is born. If there is anyone with any advice or information regarding this, I would be most grateful.

Insomnia After Having Kids

Detroit, MI

Since my second pregnancy (baby is 4 months old now) I have had insomnia! I just can't sleep longer than about 4 hours -then I can be awake from 1-3 hours in the night (it is 3:50 am now - been awake since 1:30am). It drives me crazy! I rarely get a nap in the day time and even if I have the chance to nap it will take me 45 mins to fall asleep (by then one of the kids has wakened from thier nap). Before kids I could sleep at the drop of a hat for at least 8 hours and even took regular naps. And I am busier now in the day time than ever! Any suggestions? Anyone else experiencing this?

Is It Normal for a 23 Month Old to Be Grouping Everything?

Boca Raton, FL

Hi. Here is my question. My little girl, about to turn 2, is very into categorizing things. I will walk to a place she has played, and been very surprised to see how she has set things up. The other day, she had her little "zoo" animals, and had all the birds in one section, all the zebras grouped together, the alligator and iguana were in their own group, etc. tonight I just saw that near her kitchen, she put all the pots and lids in one area, then all the spoons together, all the forks in another pile, etc. She also is VERY particular about how she organizes. She will put all her rubber duckies, lined up on the tub edge, but they all have to face a certain angle, or she gets irate if you move them. I will say she is very bright and has a ridiculous vocabulary...I just don't know if she is being really smart by categorizing, or if it is kind of strange. Any feedback? Thanks A. :)

Is It Teething I Usually Know but This Time Not So Much

Seattle, WA

So my girl friedn took my three year old and eighteen month old over night on thursday. She said that they slept well but Gieger woke up fussing every hour..Not fully waking up. Sounded like teething but usually he starts acold the day after this happening. No cold. But when I got them back friday afternoon from her he felt like he had a fever. I gave him some time maybe he was just warm from riding in the car. Then that evening they went to grandmas because me and dad had to go down the hospital. When we pick them up he very odviously had a fever. Still not cold. So I gave him infant motrin and he slept wonderfully(which is weird too because he usually wimpers when he is teething through the night). Then saturday we woke up burning up and pink cheeked. Still no cold. Gave him motrin went away from about 4 or so hours. Same thing though later that day flaming hot. And then in the evening got really whinnie and clingy. gave him motrin again and he was fine back to playing. Still no cold. He slept ok through the night again but every time i felt him he was on fire. He woke up at fourish and I gave him more motrin(it sounds like alot but I never give him full doses of it. And i will not use tylenol i prefer the motrin as per his doc says it is better for them and actually works for fevers) he was really unconfortable and came and laid in bed with us. Be flopped around for almost an hour and then finally fell back to sleep. Still not cold. I can see where teeth may be coming in but I just dont know if I should be worried he picked something up at the hospital Tuesday when we were there or what?? How long do kids have a fever while teething? He hasnt cut teeth in a long time now and I dont remember. It has always been the hardest thing for him to do though I know. Thank you in advance!!

Is It the Flu?

Los Angeles, CA

I am on day 13 of terrible nausea and diarrhea (sorry if that's tmi). I went to the doctor 4 days ago and he didn't run any tests or anything. He said I probably had a virus and sent me on my way. The following day I called in tears because I could no longer take the nausea... so he prescribes "Tigan" or something like that. The Tigan helps the nausea tremendously but it is just masking the problem. The diarrhea is of course no fun but I can handle it. Luckily my nursing daughter doesn't seem to have caught whatever I have. My concern is that something is wrong... what do I do? Go to another doctor? Go to the ER and ask for tests? I can barely eat and have lost at least 7lbs.

Is This Going Around?

Tampa, FL

I was wondering if anyone elses child is going through this? My daughter is 2 and for the past month she has been coughing, sneezing, runny nose and now an ear infection. She has been to the Doctor in the past month 5 times and has been on a course of antibiotics and it just doesn't seem like it is getting any better not worse, but not 100% better. I know right now that I am having problems with my allergies and have for the past 2 weeks. At first she was diagnosed with a sinus infection then it went to an ear infection now I don't know what it is other than lingering on. I have talked to one other person that said his daughter is going through this but I would like to know if there is anyone else? Also I don't know what my next step should be. I don't want to take her to the Doctor's again cause it's like you tell them 2 or 3 symptoms and they just say well lets try this medicine. I am sick of her trying different medicines I just want her to get better and I don't know if I should take her to an ENT or get bloodwork done to see if she has allergies to foods and environmental? ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, R. J.

Is Walking Working for Me?

Odessa, TX

I statred a daily walking routine about 3 days ago. and i am about 80 lbs overweight and havent done any type of exercise in well over a year so i am REALLY out of shape. Therefore i have started my wakling at 30 minutes (not sure the distance)a day so i dont feel like i am going to die. I dont want to push my self over the limit cause i still have a son to take care of. I plan to increase the amount as i get back into shape. my husband told me that since i have been walking for three days now my body should be really sore, but it's not. i just run out of breath really easily and i am only really weak for about 30 minutes or so after my walk. my body isnt hurting. he also told me that if i am not sore then the walking isnt doing me any good. So is he wrong or should i increase my walking now? should i be doing something else. I just thought that walking was good exercise, and it is something that i can do with my son and be able to stay committed to.

Issues with Vitamins

Chicago, IL

Hi moms, I have a question regarding vitamins. I was always able to take a muti-vitamin with no stomach issues. I have a pretty sensitive stomach, and HATE (like most people, I'm sure) to feel nauseous. I wasn't really able to take prenatals until the middle and end of the pregnancy, and just to make sure, would take them with plenty of food in my tummy. I did, however, take a multi and folic acid. Now that I've had my baby, it seems I can't take ANYTHING without an upset stomach, no matter how much food! Any advice? Has anyone had a similar experience? I know I need to take a vitamin to stay healthy, especially since I don't always eat all of the servings of good foods I need. Please help!

I haven't taken him to the doctor yet, but if this continues I am planning on taking him to the dermatologist. He does have eczema on his legs, so I know that could cause him to be itchy, but what about the rest of his body? Itchy Palms, Fingers, Scalp, Feet...

Chicago, IN

I'm at a loss! For the past, I dunno let's say two weeks, I've had an extremely itchy scalp, to the point where if I scratch it, i get dry skin under my fingernails. I figure this may be something I can solve with Neutrogena's T-Gel shampoo (will be buying hopefully tonight!). However, about a week ago, I started suffering from extremely itchy palms and fingers, and just last night my feet. Oh - and the itching mainly comes only at nighttime? The reason I'm asking for some help is, there is nothing visible to see. There are no bumps, my skin is not dry (at least not that I can tell? I moisturize every day, I have not changed any cleansers, household products, etc.) and once i start scratching, it gets red and hot. Can anyone give me some sort of relief, or advice? It would be greatly apprecited!

IUD Question: Heavy Bleeding?

Houston, TX

I was wondering if any of you ever experienced this with the IUD. So, you know how your periods kinda either become really light, or even almost non-existant? Well, mine have been light for the longest time. (I've had the IUD for nearly 18 months) I'll spot a couple of days before, then I'll have one day of medium bleeding, one day of light, and then it's gone. Well, I spotted yesterday a tiny bit, and then last night it was heavy spotting, that was odd in itself. Today though, I'm having HEAVY bleeding. This is how my periods used to be, back before I ever had kids. (and it sucked! LOL) I haven't had heavy bleeding since I had the IUD. I guess there's nothing to *do* about it or anything, just wondering if you have experienced anything like this?

Light Pink Streak in Diaper

Miami, FL

Out of the blue last week I found a small light pink/peach streak in my daughters diaper in the front where her urine collects. It appeared to be a one time thing, until it happend again this week. Each time, when I wiped her there was no evidence of blood or anything on the wipe and it only happend in one diaper on each of those days. I've since taken her to the doctor and low and behold the pink was in the diaper when we were at his office, but at the back part of the diaper this time. He didn't seem worried and said it didn't look like blood. After a test on her urine it came back indicating there was no blood in her urine. We are still waiting for the culture to come back from the lab to rule out a UTI (she has no feaver or other signs of infection). Dr. has prescribed antibiotics until we know for sure just to be safe. Or, possibly the sample submitted (no blood, but bacteria was found) could just be contamination from poop in her diaper. The doctor said that the pink could be from chemicals in the diaper??? I use Pampers on her since they seem to work the best and am heistant to switch since I've not been happy with other brands leaking, etc. Has anyone had a similar issue which doesn't seem to indicate a medical condition, but rather some sort of chemical reaction between urine and the diapers being used??

Looking for a Good Endocrinologist in the Los Alamitos Area.

Los Angeles, CA

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Endocrinologist? I am exhibiting lots of symptoms of low thyroid, and had my thyroid tested some time ago at my general practitioner with inconclusive results. The test came back "a little low" 3 times, on the 4th time it came back "on the low side of normal", so they sent me home with a clean bill of health. As I'm aging however, the symptoms are increasing, and I'm starting to feel like I need an expert opinion. I've been hesitant to pursue the issue, because there's a part of me that doesn't want to hear a doctor tell me, "you're just old, fat and tired... deal with it!" On the other hand, I'm tired of feeling like a slug all the time! It's just not me!!! Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Looking for Advice

Chicago, IL

I am wondering if any moms have had a similar problem. I had an epidural in Feb 2004 with my daughter. I had no problems at the time, but now I have horrible pain in my lower back. The pain in not a muslce pain and only hurts to touch. When I say it hurts to touch, I mean you can bearly touch my lower back (around the site of the epidural) and I am in horenndous pain. My daughter and I have been playing on the floor and rolling around and she went to roll on my back and I practically threw her across the room on just pure reaction. It hurt so bad. It does not hurt to walk, sit, or anything else except to touch so I am concluding it is not muscle. I obviously have not been to a dr. about this and plan on talking to my dr soon, but wanted to know if anyone else experienced this. I'm not sure if I should go to my primary dr or got to a different type of Dr, but what kind... I'm so confused, but know I have to do something about this because it is really bothering me.

Looking for Advice to Get Rid of Chronic Sinus Infections...

Dallas, TX

Numerous of doctor's visits, medications and antibiotics. Still having low grade fevers off and on, headaches, sinus pressure. Taking Allegra D and Astylin Nose spray. I also bought a NETIPOT. I use it several times a week. My nose is clear. I am very tired and ready for a nap almost every day. I stopped drinking regular milk and now on soy because I figured out I was lactose intolerant. Made a big difference. My doctor will not recommend for me to see a Ear, Nose and Throat doctor or an Allergist. I am very frustrated. I live in the North FW/Keller area. Can anyone recommend something, anything, I am desparate.

Looking for Dermatologist Recommendations

Dallas, TX

I am looking for a dermatologist to remove skin tags. The last one I visited wouldn't even discuss it with me because they are benign and there was no medical reason to remove them. I realize that this procedure is considered "cosmetic" and will not be covered by insurance, so if you've had this done and can ballpark the cost for me I'd really appreciate it. Also, any details about the experience would be welcomed. I would prefer the Plano area, but am open to some traveling for the right doctor.

Looking for Dr./Specialist in Rib Abnormalities

Dallas, TX

This is a long shot, I know - but we must try. I have a friend who has an 18 year old autistic daughter. They have recently discoverd she has a rib abnormality - some of her ribs had been broken in the past and repaired themselves in an abnormal way, which is now causing problems. Her doctors do not know what to do, as they've never seen it before, so now my friend is searching for any doctors that have seen this before & may be able to help treat. So it's a long shot - but do any of you have any recommendations? Been through something similar? Thanks in advance - S.

Looking for Info on My Son's Skin Condition...

Houston, TX

Here is my story.....When my son was born, I tried desperately to nurse him as I had done so with his sister with no problems. He never would latch on (something to do with a high palate), so I just continued to pump and feed him with a bottle. After about a month of pumping every 3 hours (whew!), I had had enough and decided to put him on formula. He did very well but after a few weeks of this, he started getting brown patches on his skin. They kind of look like small bruises in a way. I really did not think anything of it (this is also the time when he started getting "baby acne") until I went to his next check-up and showed them to his pediatrician. He got a little freaked out and started calling around to try and figure things out. He did a blood count and at that time, my son's platelets were extremely high but his white blood cell count was normal. He was also a little anemic. Our pediatrician first decided that we should go to see one of the top dermatologists in Houston. At that visit, the dermatologist gave us the diagnosis of what he thought was "urticaria pigmentosa"....a form of mastocytosis. This is where your mast cells in your body clump together and show up as "spots" on the skin. If they are present in infancy, there is a high likelihood that they will disappear by puberty. They "could" itch him (however we have NO clue if they are bothering him because he is SUCH a happy baby and never cries!!). Anyway, the dermatologist then decided that he would like us to go to Grand Rounds (this is where about 50-60 doctors come in and look at you and then make their diagnosis without getting any info from you.) They were all pretty much in agreement about the urticaria pigmentosa. After all of this, our pediatrician still wanted us to go to hematology to rule out cancer. We went to the cancer center at Texas Children's and did blood work and they took a close look at his white blood cells. His counts were normal, but within the cells, his infection fighting cells were a little low and another type of cell was high to compensate. But, they came to the conclusion that everything was ok and they hoped to never see us again (another whew!). Anyway, our pediatrician agrees that the diagnosis is the urticaria pigmentosa and so we are sticking with that. The spots are continuing to pop up and they do not look like any are going away. He is a very good baby and the spotsvdo not seem to bother him. My question is, are there any of you out there who are or have gone through this? My only fear is that he will grow up to be self-conscious of his "spots". I would also like to know if and how long this lasts? I know that it is a very rare condition, so any info would be great! I just want the world for my son!!!

Lower Back Pain

Houston, TX

I have been having backaches pretty much daily for a while now. When I had my son I opted for an epidural but was unable to have one successfully due to what they said was a mild case of scoliosis. They tried to inject me 4 times unsuccessfully and acutally it did cause me to have a horrible migraine for about ten days after I delivered. I guess I would like to hear from other moms who had back pain associated with epidurals or epidural complications and know how long the pain went on. I also think I might just be having these backaches due to being on the floor a lot with my son and holding him. I am not changing him or drying him off after bath on the floor anymore to try and save my back a little bit. Any advice on battling the back pain would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lower Back Pain

Detroit, MI

Hey Moms, I've had 3 babies and my last is 6 months old. I have had the epidural shot with all 3. I was wondering if any of you Moms have had lower back pains or pinched nerves AFTER your pregnancy. I have been working out to taebo and I'm wondering if that is too much still because all of a sudden my lower back is bothering me. I've been working out ever since I got my okay at 6 weeks post pregnancy. Its weird cuz it is that same feeling as if I was big and pregnant. I haven't worked out this week and I think I am gonna wait until the pain goes completely away before I try to get back to taebo. I hope it is just because my body is still not back to normal instead of something caused by taebo. I've been doing taebo for years so I don't think it could be from the workout itself.

Magic Erasers - Watch Out!

Dallas, TX

Moms, A friend passed this onto me & I wanted to share serious news with you! Anyone with Children or Grandchildren, Please Read Ok, I'm forwarding this to everyone so they don't make the same mistake. These burns were caused by a Magic Eraser sponge. The mom in this case let her kids erase their crayon marks off the walls and never even thought the sponges would have this kind of chemical in them that would cause this kind of burn or even hurt them. Learn from her mistake. Pass this along to anyone who has kids or grandchildren. The photo is of Kolby - 24 hours after being burned by a Magic Eraser sponge. It was much worse the day before. Here is the email we received - One of my five year old's favorite chores around the house is cleaning scuff marks off the walls, doors, and baseboards with either an Easy Eraser pad, or the real deal, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I remember reading the box, wondering what the 'Magic' component was that cleaned crayon off my walls with ease. No ingredients were listed and absolutely no warnings were on the box, other than 'Do not ingest.' My package of the Scotchbrite Easy Erasers didn't have a warning either; and since my child knew not to eat the sponges and keep them out of reach of his little brother and sister, it was a chore I happily let him do. If I had known that both brands (and others like them) contain a harmful alkaline or 'base' chemical (opposite of acid on the pH scale) that can burn your skin, I never would have let my little boy handle them. As you can see from the picture, when the Scotchbrite Easy Eraser was rubbed against his face and chin, he received severe chemical burns. At first, I thought he was being dramatic. I picked him up, put him on the counter top and washed his face with soap and water. He was screaming in pain. I put some lotion on his face - more agony. I had used a Magic Eraser to remove ma gic marker from my own knuckles a while back and I couldn't understand why he was suddenly in pain. Then, almost immediately, the large, shiny, blistering red marks started to spread across his cheeks and chin. I quickly searched Google.com for 'Magic Eraser Burn' and turned up several results. I was shocked. These completely innocent looking white foam sponges can burn you? I called our pediatrician, and of course got sent to voice mail. I hung up and called the hospital and spoke to an emergency room nurse. She told me to call Poison Control. The woman at Poison Control said she was surprised nobody had sued these companies yet and walked me through the process of neutralizing the alkaline to stop my son's face from continually burning more every second. I had already, during my frantic phone calling, tried patting some numbing antibiotic cream on his cheeks, and later some Aloe Vera gel - both resulted in screams of pain. The Poison Control tech had me fill a bathtub with warm water, lay my son into it, cover him with a towel to keep him warm and then use a soft washcloth to rinse his face and chin with cool water for a continuous 20 minutes. My son calmed down immediately. He told me how good it felt. I gave him a dose of Tylenol and after the twenty minutes was up, he got dressed in his Emergency Room doctor Halloween costume and off we went to the hospital. They needed to make sure the chemical burn had stopped burning, and examine his face to determine if the burn would need to be debri ded (from my fuzzy recollection of hospital work, this means removing loose tissue from a burn location). My son was pretty happy at the hospital, they were very nice and called him 'Doctor' and let him examine some of their equipment. The water had successfully stopped the burning and helped soothe a lot of the pain. I'm sure Tylenol was helping too. They sent us home with more Aloe Vera gel, Polysporin antibiotic cream, and some other numbing creams. By the time we got home, my son was crying again. I tried applying some of the creams but he cried out in pain. Water seemed to be what worked the best. After a rough night, I took the above photo in the morning. He was swollen and wouldn't move his lips very much. The skin on his cheeks was taut. Today he is doing much better. The burns have started to scab over, and in place of red, raw, angry, skin we have a deeper red, rough healing layer. I can touch his skin now, without it stinging. If you are a parent or grandparent, this post is meant to save your loved ones from the horror these parents went through. Please share it with other parents, grandparents, babysitters, aunts and uncles ~ anyone you know who spends time with kids.

Milk Won't Dry Up

Minneapolis, MN

I recently weaned my 17 month old, she had been nursing only nights and mornings for a month or more, and we stopped the night one and then the morning one. The last time she nursed was almost 2 weeks ago. I was fine for a week or so but now am getting hard painful spots around the nipple(plugged ducts?) and am leaking milk. mostly only in my one side (the other side was always my 'milk dud' and didn't produce as much). I tried cabbage this weekend (boy does that stink after a half hour or so..) and i used a heat bag last night. My questions are: is this normal? When will it go away? Anything I should be doing to make it less painful? After 17 months of nursing I am SO ready for my boobs to stop being an ISSUE! thanks!!

Mirena Birth Control.. Please Help!!

Milwaukee, WI

I have had my IUD for almost a year now and I love it. I think it is the best thing ever!! Problem is my husband hates it, I was told by my doctor that he would not be able to feel it when we were together. My husband has felt it from day one. I had my first one removed a few months back because we thought the strings were too short and that's why he could feel it. Now with the second one he says he still feels it, he says some times it hurts but mostly it's just annoying. I talked to my doctor about it again and she said I was the first women to have had problems like this. Has any one else had this issue? I really don't want to give up my IUD but it's really starting to cause problems in the bedroom.

MMR Aka Autism Shot

Washington DC, VA

Hello All, I am always drawn to programming that gives info on autism and today Oprah had on Jenny McCarthy and Holly Robinson. At one point in the show Jenny suggested that autism may be triggered by the MMR shot which is typically given to our children around 15 mos old. My son's 15 month appt is coming up and I was just wondering if any of you have done additional research on this subject and refused to let your child get this shot. As a first time, soon to be second time mom I just feel like I can't not look into it at all. Todays' show was not the first time I've heard this and for some reason it always hits a cord with me. I don't know if that is my intuition or just paranoia.

MMR Vaccinations?

Houston, TX

Well, its time for us to get the MMR shots, and I have been trying to find them as seperate injections, rather than get all three in one jab. Is it even possible? I asked my doctor to get in touch with the manufacturer, Merck, and get the single shots and I would be willing to pay extra, etc... She says she tried but they are not able to get them. Any ideas? Did you all have the combined MMR? Was it h*** o* your baby? Has anyone had the seperate shots? Any information is greatly appreciated.

MMR Vaccine

Miami, FL

Hi all! I chose not to give my baby the MMR just yet, due to the information out there saying that it can be related to the cause of autism, etc. I know there is no real diagnosed correlation but it seems that the opposite may be true. Anyway, this has actually been on my mind for a while now and after watching Oprah today (autism based), I figured I'd ask. When I asked my pediatrician if she gave the vaccines separately for the MMR, she said no as it was too costly. She did say that we could wait until she turned 2. Since I have months to go before she turns 2, I didn't even bother asking her : why 2 and whats the outcome? So I'm wondering if any of you had experienced this...waited until the child was 2 and what happened afterwards?

Mosquito/tick or Flea Bites

San Antonio, TX

My 4 yr old son has bites all over his arms and legs. He had bites on his tummy, and face but have healed. I though he had the chicken pox. They are small bites. They do not have puss. I also have them around both my ankles. I am diabetic so mine have not healed. We do not have pets. There is a lake right behind our building and there are ducks, cats and dogs always on the grass and on our porch. I also have see nile birds in the lake. My son has had fever only for one day and vomiting with no illness before it happened. Can someone give me advice on what to put on these bites so they can heal and stop itching. My son is constantly scratching. I have put neosporin since it says heals fast but didn't work. I tried this other medication which dries and makes a hard layer over the bite so you wont scratch but doesnt work. Please help. Like I said it look like he has chicken pox cause he has so many bites all over and he is always on the carpet. I think maybe the fleas got on our clothes when we walk through the grass area and have reproduced in our apt. I've seen one on my socks twice now. I am worried about all the scars on our legs we have very light skin and we love to wear shorts. thank I.

My 1 Year Old Having Sleep Problems

Philadelphia, PA

My 13 month old has always been a great sleeper - goes down at 7pm and rarely if ever wakes until 7am. He has also always gone down very easily, no fussing, until recently, and now he seems to fight going to sleep, even at naptimes. The minute we put him in the crib, he refuses to lie down and starts crying. This can go on for up to 45 minutes before he finally falls asleep. We go in and reassure him every 10-15 minutes, but we don't want to pick him up as we feel this will teach him that he will be able to get up as long as he cries. Any ideas - why is this happening now to a great sleeper, and what can we do to make it better.
