Business description (provided by the business owner):

Teacher's Heart is a fully licensed and home-based preschool located on the boarder of San Jose, Santa Clara, and Campbell. We provide a stimulating and developmental appropriate environment, which foster the intellectual, social and emotional, and physical developments of all children. The goal of Teacher's Heart is to meet the developmental needs of each child by collaborating with parents and families. Every 6 months, our teachers will review children's development using DRDP (The Desire Result Developmental Profile) and discuss with parents in formal meetings. Parents are actively involved in the program. Every month, we have a parents' discussion meeting and talk about tips and strategies of raising healthy children. We currently have 3 teachers, all CPR/First Aid certified. Our school currently has 8 children, aging from 7 month to 4 year old, and the ratio is exceptional because we want to make sure each child get enough attention. Please visit our website for more information or call to schedule a tour.

My 2 year old son has been with Teacher's Heart since March 2009. My son has had some minor medical issues and the staff have been very consciencious about following his medical follow up. The staff is always very helpful and communicative about my son's day, interests, milestones, etc. I feel like the staff knows my son very well and are in tune to his likes, dislikes and moods. Phoebe does her best to create a community within her daycare by holding monthly workshops for parents in the evening and even a family picnic in September. I am particularly satisfied with the monthly rates with meals included (it sure makes my life simpler). My child is safe, loved, supported, educated, nurtured and encouraged at Teacher's Heart.

My child is at this home-based preschool since beginning of August 2009, and we are extremely happy. They accommodate our child's vegetarian diet and they cook Home-based meals that are very healthy. The teachers work with the children on language development, social skills and art-related activities. The owner organizes parent meetings and outdoor activities that are good for parent involvement. The teachers are trying to work with us on potty training. Everyday we get a report. There are lots of daycares around our neighborhood and we decided to drive the extra 10 mins because we believe that this daycare provides quality and flexibility at a reasonable price.

I viewed quite a few at-home day care centers before placing my then 4 month old daughter at Teacher's Heart. The environment is clean, organized and child-friendly and the staff are warm, caring and child-centered. I love that the staff are flexible with each child to help them get their needs met and get along with others. I am so pleased with the positive social interactions my daughter is being exposed to and has become a part of. The staff encourage older and younger students to interact, play and learn from and with each other. Each day I get a written report to tell me about my daughter's day, how much she ate, slept, her favorite activities etc. As an educator myself I appreciate that the director keeps herself and her staff educated on current research and theories about child development. The staff has been very flexible with me in terms of accommodating my changing schedule and doing everything possible to help my daughter thrive. At the moment my daughter is 7 months old and teething : the staff go above and beyond the call of duty to help her nap during this difficult time for her. I appreciate their caring attitudes and dedication to the students they work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a child-centered program that lets students learn through both structured and unstructured play, art, music, etc.
