Nature's Essence's team have been providing services to my home for several months. I have been completely satisfied. My family and I have allergies, the green products used leave the home fresh and clean smelling without overpowering scents. The cleaning service has been great, the usage of products and scents are wonderful. I started using their services after moving into a new home. The new home had not had any cleaning for over a year! Nature's Essence did a review of my home's needs and followed through with great service. I would highl y recommend the services; great for people with allergy issues and if you are trying to become more green.

I was very happy with this cleaning company until they surprised me with a 43% rate increase. This was in the form of a 300% increase of their "new clean" fee. I had to cancel a cleaning. When I tried to book the next cleaning, Maria told me I'd have to pay an extra $65 basically because I missed a cleaning. They now charge $65 extra if they have not cleaned your house within the last 30 days. This particular fee used to be $20 (hence the 300% increase). I had a 2 year history with them, but find this fee increase to be outrageous, especially since their fees are rather high as it is. So, if you use them, make sure you fully understand their policy. I'm very disappointed in their handling of this situation. I think raising fees without notice is bad business. This company is good at cleaning, not so good at maintaining business relationships.

Maria and Peter have been wonderful to work with. Our home needed some major decluttering. My husband and I were just so overwhelmed with where to start. We have been so busy with work and little ones that we didn't know what to do. Peter worked with us for several weeks one day a week to get it in a manageable place for us to finish up. Now our home is not only clutter free but I also painted every room in the house and am getting ready to put up new curtains. I am so excited that my house is now a place to come home to after a long day instead of a hostile environment where I hated to see a "mess" all the time. I look forward to Maria, Peter, and their team cleaning our home too. Hats off to Maria and Peter!!! Thank you!!!

Maria and Nature's Essence had cleaned my house monthly for about a year. They had always done a wonderful job. However, they are extremely high in price. They also have a tendency to tack on all kinds of fees. They say this is outlined in their "guide", but it is a bit over the top.
Communication with this company is not always the best. It is always done through email, without a courtesy phone call.
They had to be reminded on several occasions to lock the door when they were done cleaning. They also had to be told on a few occasions to keep the door closed as they were bringing in supplies (so my cat wouldn't get out).
Maria also called me at work one day (September of 2008) to tell me I didn't leave a check for her. I did. It was on the counter. One of her employees had already taken it. Maria was very rude about it. I didn't even receive an apology.
I am in the process of looking for a new housekeeping service.

I hate to be the one that writes the less than glowing review but one must be honest. I had Nature's Essence come to clean my house and they really did a good job cleaning, however there was serious miscommunication and badly set expectations. When I hire a cleaning service to come 'Every other week on Wednesdays' I expect them to be there every other Wednesday! This didn't happen. The 3rd or 4th visit they just didn't show up! Part of the problem was that I had moved to a new phone service provider and my work phone# was discontinued. I didn't realize this was the only number they had (despite my husband leaving them his cell# on a post it note the week before that Maria said she 'crumpled up and threw away' and they had my email address. At about 9am I emailed asking where they were. I finally got an email back later in the day saying they couldn't get a hold of us so they didn't come!!! And when I inquired about when they could come to 'make up' the cleaning THEY MISSED, I was told it wouldn't be until 2 weeks later during our next regularly scheduled cleaning, this was totally unacceptible!

I was later told that if they can't contact us they won't come because they can't be sure we are home. I was never told I had to be available for a 'confirmation of appointment' phone call. I expected they would come every other week as we had agreed upon! And then when I tried to discuss this with Maria she got very upset with me and during our phone call she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise, it was very frustrating to say the least!

I really think what happened is we were too far away for her to travel and it wasn't worth her time so she was looking for a reason to be rid of us, that's just my theory, I will probably never know the truth.

So if you live in the Aurora/Naperville area then you are probably safe to hire them, but if you live too far away from there, then be sure to get all the rules straight beforehand.

I just had my first cleaning this week and it was truly amazing. Maria and her team did a spectacular job and we are very picky people. I have no complaints and the pricing totally reasonable. Island Breeze is the very best. Can't wait for next time:o)

They are great! Love the natural cleaners and the ability to pick from a variety of essential oil scents. My house is spotless when they leave - the furniture is free of pet hair - even the dog beds are vacuumed!

Island Breeze is by far the best cleaning service I've ever used. They are quick, thorough, they ask for feedback and use earth friendly products. Maria makes most of the products herself and adds wonderful smelling essential oils. Ask for Orange-Cinnamon, her winter fragrance.

There is an initial appointment on the phone to find out what type of service you are looking for. Next, Maria does a walk-thru of your home room by room and discusses what she will do. You can also add additional one-time services for a nominal fee. We have a monthly service set up and it is so nice to come home to a clean, fresh scented house. I would highly recommend Maria's business for cleaning services!

I have used at least five cleaning services before I happened upon Island Breeze. I looked in the yellow pages and saw that Maria used all natural cleaning products. I have a three-year-old and a six-month-old, so harsh chemicals are out of the question. I have been THRILLED with Island Breeze. They are friendly, efficient, meticulous, detailed and flexible.
