We know that finding the perfect day care for your infant or toddler can be an emotionally challenging experience. Since we opened our doors in 1997, our reputation has grown as one of the finest infant/toddler care facilities in all the Portland Metro area.

We are state certified infant/toddler care facilities; this means we care for little ones 8 weeks - 3 years old. Our infant/toddler ratio is 4.1 so we are able to give lots of attention to the children in our care. We strive to make our homes the best in every way with one on one love and learning as well as excellent physical care. We maintain a media free environment with lots of reading and music and where the needs of each child dictates the schedule, creating a soothing daily rhythm to our homes.

We are located in private homes that have been transformed for the children, each offering more than twice the state required square footage. Each Cloud Nine home has at least two playrooms including a “Jungle Room.” There are also three separate nurseries, which enable our little ones to sleep soundly in comfy cribs. We have two changing areas as well and the children are free to roam about their home away from home. Fenced yards are a must and we offer lots of outdoor fun, under the watchful eyes of the providers. Our facilities are bright, cheery, safe, very clean and equipped with a large variety of toys, books, puzzles and all manner of fun things.

Our hours are from 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. M-F and our fees are $1080.00 per month for full or part-time care. Our capacity for each home is 16 children with 4 full-time staff. Each family is free to use their child’s spot as much or as little as they need. Nutritious meals, with many organic items, are included.

Bell, our Director, has 18 years experience operating child care facilities. Our Parent Handbook lays out the exact Policies and Procedures so every family understands what they can expect; as well as what is needed and wanted from them. Miss Monet is our Staff Trainer, she has been here for 12 years. She ensures every staff is fully trained to our standards from facility to facility and that each is able to deliver the level of service we require. Our staff are an exceptional blend of people, each bringing their unique talents to Cloud Nine. They are the greatest assets we have by far! Each is certified in pediatric CPR and 1st aid as well as health and safety training. All have passed their criminal history, work and reference checks. Each undergoes an intense training in the successful actions of 20 years experience as well as a forty-hour course in Early Childhood Development. However, their genuine love of children is what truly sets Cloud Nine apart!

Our children and families here are of the utmost importance. We provide Parent Newsletters & lots of pictures of their child's days here at Cloud Nine. We also make every child's birthday a fun and special celebration.

As soon as our 1st son started going to Cloud NIne, a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. I never worried about whether he was having a good day because of the wonderful Cloud NIne environment and staff. Now with our 2nd child, it's the same way. Bell & Monet really know how to run a top notch daycare!

Cloud Nine is truely a wonderful place! When I drop off my 1 year old daughter, who started there at 12 weeks old, she practically jumps out my arms because she is so excited to go to "school". Although it makes me a little sad that she could care less that I'm leaving, I am so happy that we have found a place that she feels safe and loved. All of the staff are wonderful and the facilities clean, safe and stimulating for little minds. It a unique place like nothing else in Portland (we looked). My husband and I feel fortunate to have such a great place and more importantly, wonderful people to care for our little girl when we can't!

My son has been with Cloud nine for a little over two years now. I have always felt very confident that he is getting wonderful loving care. He has so much fun while at Cloud nine. He is always talking about having his friends from school come over to our house and those friends often include the caregivers at the school. I highly recommend Cloud nine infant house and preschool.

I love Cloud Nine! The wonderful Misses at Cloud Nine have been caring for my son for almost a year now, since he was about 4 months old, and I have never for a second doubted that I made the right decision for him.

Like most first-time parents, my husband and I were very anxious about leaving our babe with someone else for eight or more hours a day. The caregivers we were choosing would be a second family to our little guy! I wanted to be certain that they would treat him tenderly and respectfully—and they do. Plus he has lots of fun. He gets so excited to go in and play with the other children and the Misses, he hardly gives us a second look when we drop him off for the day. There are just too many fun things to see and do and too many friends to play with for him to waste a minute.

I love that they model respectful behavior and good manners to the children. My 14 month old said “thank you” to me last night when I gave him his dinner. How wonderful is that!?! He is just beginning to use language and he is learning that we express affection and appreciation of others through the things we say. I appreciate that the Misses at Cloud Nine take good physical care of him, but I am truly thankful that they emphasize care of how he develops as a persons. These little things are bricks creating the foundation for his life. They may be small, but they are important!

Running a daycare must be one of the most challenging endeavors a person can undertake other than being a parent. Maybe even more challenging because each parent is certain that they know best how to care for and guide the development of their child, and a great caregiver needs to accommodate that while making sure that each child is equally well cared for and nurtured. I love how Cloud Nine balances those competing needs. No one parent or child is more important than another. One example is the sick policy. It is frustrating to reschedule my day because my son has a minor fever and can’t stay in daycare. But I benefit from the same policy each time another child is sent home early before passing along another cold of flu. Do I think overall it is worth it to have a strict sick policy? Absolutely. I also appreciate that Cloud Nine does not tolerate parents who are disrespectful to the Misses. Our children watch how we treat others and learn from it. These ladies work hard and I want my child to value their efforts. The best way to show him that what they do is important is to show them respect. Kudos to Cloud Nine for insisting on that.

Finally, what do I think is the best thing about Cloud Nine? My son is happier because he goes to Cloud Nine than he would be staying at home. Wonderful.

Communication with parents is good. Every very month you get a packet with photos of your child.
Nutritious, home made meals for the kids
They treat breast milk like GOLD.
Everyday you and a teacher have a one-on-one conversation about your child’s day.
They love the kids. And you can tell.

As a first time mom I was really freaking out about finding the perfect day care for my son. I was very particular about how I wanted his days to go and the atmopshere I wanted him to be in. At my first meeting with Miss Bell I knew instantly that this was the place for my son. It's now 6 months later and he is happy and thriving. I love the caregivers and I can see how much my son loves them and they him. I never have to worry if he's having a great day and the giant smile on his face when I pick him up just confirms this. I love Cloud Nine. It was such a blessing to be able to have them become part of my son's "family". Their homes really are a "home away from home". You can't get better than this!

I can't say enough positive things about Cloud Nine. The staff is absolutely amazing. Our son has been at Cloud Nine since he was 5 months old. He is not even 2 years old yet and can count to 10, sing ABCs, speak in complete sentences and has a very large vocabulary. This is directly related to the education he is receiving every day at Cloud Nine. He loves to read books and has some memorized from his daily readings while in their care. What's most impressive to me are his manners. The providers at Cloud Nine have taught him to say please, thank you, excuse me, etc. He is excited to go to "school" everyday and play with his friends. The facility is spotless and you are always greeted with a smile. We will keep our son there until he starts kindergarten and anticipate sending our next child there as well. Cloud Nine is truly the best daycare.

After having our daughter, we were fortunate to be able to have her home with her grandmother until she was six months old. Then Grandma started a new job and we found ourselves faced with that overwhelming task of finding a daycare facility that would care for our baby like her grandmother did. After visiting a number of Portland area facilities, we were beside ourselves with worry. I remember coming out of each facility visit in tears. How were we going to be able to do this? Fortunately, my co-worker mentioned Cloud Nine. Her older daughter had been cared for by Cloud Nine and their youngest, who is a couple months older than our daughter, was there now. She raved about them! We were beginning to get very excited; however, she wasn’t sure there were any immediate openings so we didn’t get our hopes up. Once we found out there was an opening and we read through all the wonderful letters the parents from Cloud Nine had written, we called Bell and set up a visit. She asked that we bring our daughter to the visit. What a wonderful thing that was! No other facility we had visited ever asked to meet our daughter. This showed us that they were excited about getting to know our child.

The minute we walked into Cloud Nine, what a huge sigh of relief! This was the place we’d been dreaming about. The facility was warm, extremely clean, bright and inviting. They were excited to meet us and they immediately took to our daughter. We knew after our visit that this was where we wanted our daughter to be.

Our daughter has been at Cloud Nine for over three years now and it has been an incredible experience for us. We cannot say enough about the girls at Cloud Nine. They all are bright, beautiful and thoughtful people. They not only provide exceptional care for children, they love them like they are family. Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine there were people like this out there. Our trust in them is unwavering. They provide a family home-life environment that is very difficult to find in a daycare facility. All the children at Cloud Nine are thriving, well-mannered, fun-loving, intelligent, fulfilled and happy kids thanks to the care, attention and love they receive from those girls everyday.

We really can’t come up with the words to explain the impact Cloud Nine, Bell, Lacey, Monet and all the girls have made in our lives. They’ve given us something that is priceless…peace of mind. We will never be able to thank them enough. They truly are one of a kind.

We have known Bell and her girls since our oldest daughter was 8 weeks old. Now, almost 10 years later, they are a part of the family. No where else will you find the combination of love, care, and professionalism that Cloud Nine provides. I feel fortunate every day that we found Cloud Nine.

Prior to moving to Oregon, we struggled with the daunting task of finding “the perfect” daycare for our 3 year-old son. However, our search immediately came to an end upon discovering Cloud Nine. Not only were we impressed by the beautiful, clean setting of the preschool home, but also the safe, nurturing manner in which daily educational lessons were provided. From the onset, we were welcomed into the Cloud Nine family with kindness and warmth.

Therefore, when our second son was born, we knew exactly where to turn. At 8 weeks of age, our little one began daycare at the Cloud Nine Infant/Toddler home. Once again, we were very impressed as we observed how the Cloud Nine staff interacted with our son--how they genuinely cared for and loved him.

Throughout the years, Cloud Nine Infant/Toddler and Preschool has continually surpassed all my expectations. And I am condfident that they will surpass yours too.

I have nothing but praise for Cloud Nine Infant/Toddler Daycare. It was a difficult decision to return to work but I knew, for my own happiness, I needed to return to the work world at least a few days a week, but... I had to find the perfect daycare before I could feel good about my decision. The moment I stepped into Cloud Nine's doors, I knew I had found the right place to take my precious baby boy. The girls that watch my son are amazing and provide the best care around. I never worry about him while at work because I know how well he is being taken care of and how loved he is. He actually cries now when I pick him up to take him home...THAT'S good day care :)

My husband and I toured many, many daycares in the Portland area when we were pregnant with our first child, and Cloud Nine was the only place that we felt comfortable leaving our infant daughter. The facilities are extremely clean and the staff are knowledgeable and loving. My daughter smiles every time we drop her off, and it makes leaving her much easier because I know she is in good hands.

My children both go to Cloud Nine. They are a day care that are located in homes. I love them because the homes are totally dedicated to the daycare, they have full run of the house and they still have that homey feel. They love my children like their own and do a wonderful job. It's a great feeling to see my children run in and have smiles on their faces jumping up to hug one of the teachers. I could go on and on. I couldn't have found a better place for my little ones. Feel free to contact me for more info from a parent perspective.
