Hi all!
I feel a little like a kid at Christmas. I just got my new iphone and I love it. My work gets discounts and since I will be using it partly for business purposes, they pay a part of the bill! Added bonus!!

Sooo I'm a newbie at this...tell me your fave apps and what they are for. I'm not going to be a zombie, but various trips are looming, and long waits for kids at numerous practices...why not be entertained?

What can I do next?

Shazam! I know some will think that is lame, my husband does, but I love it. If you are listening to a song and don't know who did it or want the lyrics, you just Shazam it. Which means, click the Shazam button and the app listens to the song and loads a page that has anything you wanted to know about the song or artist, including tour dates and videos. I love it! I like my flashlight app too - it has come in handy more than I thought it would.

Now just ask about the lame apps that are available, I have deleted more than I have not :(

I agree with Momma11, I LOVE Shazam! It's one of my faves! I am also a little more than obsessed with Draw Something and the Pinterest and Facebook apps. I am waiting for a Mamapedia app!! (Hello? Hint Hint!)

Angry Birds is a popular one, but I prefer it on the iPad. It's hard to see on the smaller screen.

For arcade style games that can be used in short bursts, I like:
DoodleJump
Scoops
Skee-Ball
OvenBreak
Penguin Catapult
Fruit Ninja

If you like card games:
Cribbage (Premium)
Gin Rummy
Solebon (a variety of solitaire games)

If you have other friends you want to play games with:
Words With Friends
Hanging With Friends
Scramble With Friends
Draw Something

Then there are a bunch of shopping related apps:
Amazon
Groupon
Barnes and Noble
AAA Discounts
(probably others)

And for entertainment:
Showtimes (for movies)
IMDB
Pandora
Directv (lets me set up a recording remotely)
Facebook

Utilities:
CheckPlease (for figuring out tips and splitting bills)
Period Tracker (lite).

Grocery IQ and I Heart radio.

I LOVE the I Heart Radio because when I am out of town, I can listen to my favorite local station.
