I'm pregnant with twins and wonder when other moms delivered their twins? What week were you in and how did you deliver? C-section or v**inal birth?

What can I do next?

How are you doing? I delivered at 36 weeks v**inally (didn't want to) but it went great! My doc convinced me to try it because I also had the 2 yr old at home who was going to want lots of attention (as if the twins don't require any) and the recovery from v** delivery is thousands times easier than recovery from c-section. I'm glad I took his advice because it went really well! My girl was 6lbs 5 oz and came home with me on day #2 andmy son was 5lbs 13oz and came home on day 13. the docs and nurses said girls ALWAYS do better than the boys! Hope you are feeling well!

I was 35 weeks and had my girls v**inally. They were 5.5 lbs and did very well. As long as both babies are head down, a v**inal delivery is safe.

Steph, I have 2.5 year old twins and it is really hard and the greatest experience in the world!!!! I had my twins c-section b/c my doc refused to do v** with twins. The recovery was not that hard!! My twins were early (34 weeks) and had to stay in the hospital (they weighed 4.4 and 4.6)... which is not all cases. But my advise is to prepare yourself for that to be the case. Do everything you can to keep them in you, but be prepared. My dr. told me to read everything I could on carrying twins, put me on bed rest at 28 weeks and when they came early, I knew they would go to the NICU. I dont want to scare you but my being prepared helped me be stronger. Having a singleton also, twins are easier babies, they have each other, mine slept in the same crib until 20 months whrn they were too big and now they have toddler beds that are pushed together. They soothe each other, they have a bond deeper then any conection you could imagine. It truly is wonderful to watch them interact with eachother every single day. They do everything together. You are so lucky to experience raising twins. My son is younger then them and they were such easy babies and he was/ is such a handful. The best advise I ever got came from my sisters MIL who has twins, she told me 1. Dont give them rhyming names 2. When one wakes up hungry, wake up the other one to feed also or you will never sleep. Send me a message if you have any questions and I'll give you my phone number if you want. Good Luck.

Congratulations on your twin pregnancy! My twins are now almost 8 months old. The arrived at almost 39 weeks by c-section (6lbs 2oz and 6lbs 10oz). One twin was breached and the other was transversed. The doctor felt all along that c-section was the best and less risky way of delivery. I wasn't decided on v**inal or c-section, but I wanted to leave the option open. As they got closer to term, I pretty much knew it would be c-section because there wasn't much room for them to move around and less chance for them to turn head down. So in the end, my babies made the decision for me. =) The surgery was very quick and I recovered with no problems.

I went to 38 weeks and delivered by C-section. The babies changed positions all the way to 37 weeks when they planted themselves transverse. They were almost 6lbs a piece and we all went home together. My DR ha a lot of multiple experience and was conservative with my activity level and took me out of work at 22 weeks and put me on modified bed rest even though I had no issues. If you need a great DR. he is in Orange. His name is Dr. Zepeda ###-###-####. He is AWESOME!!!

Congratulations on your twin pregnancy! My twins are 23 months and were delivered @ 38 weeks vis c-section. They weighed 8lbs each and were perfectly healthy! I live so far from the hospital I deliver at, and since my daughter was breech and she was baby A, I had to have the c-section early as a safety measure. I wasn't contracting and would have made it the 2 more weeks, but they arrived safe and sound, which was more important.

And some advice...the first year is the hardest, but enjoy it...its fun and goes by so fast! That's not to say it's easy, but it's such a blast. Oh, and get ready for "twin proofing"...very differnt than child proofing.

Good luck to you and I hope things go well for you!

I went to midwives throughout my pregnancy and delivered C section 5 weeks early. One twin was feet presenting or they would have let me go v**inal. They were 5.8 and 5.14 at birth, (I ate a lot!!) and we only stayed in the hospital because one had breast milk jaundice. Ditto the feeding and other info from the twin mom. Mine were fraternal and don't have the bond that identicals do, but they slept together at first. I spent almost all my time just caring for them at first. So don't feel like you can't get anything else done as you will be doing the most important part. I breast fed until they were 6 months old and made the decision to stop because I felt like a milk machine. My sister would bring her baby over and leave her with me so sometimes I fed 3. They are easier that 2 a year apart, the reason my sister brought her baby over was to catch a break with the 1 year old. Have a good nesting place if you are going to breast feed. Have the nurses teach you the football hold so you can feed them both at the same time when they are still small enough. Relax and enjoy them, have someone else clean and cook and do laundry for a while. I also used cloth diapers from a service and it was so easy. No garbage stink and no laundry. I was also put on bed rest early, as walking gets tough after a while. It will feel like a soccer game in your belly for a while!! Let me know if you need anything, and good luck!!

Regards, twin mom
