Yikes! Ink on Couch!

I just got about a half inch purple ink mark on my beige couch! It's a microfiber couch and the cleaning directions say not to use anything water based to clean it, not that I would know what to use anyway. Anyone have any suggestions? I love this couch, it is the first piece of furniture I ever saved up for and bought myself.

What can I do next?

yep, the rubbing alcohol on a q-tip works... so does a baby wipe. Scrub the baby wipe across the mark and it will most likely totally disappear, if not fade to the point where you have to look very closely to see it.

I've had a lot of success getting ink off of my microfiber couch with oxyclean spray. I find babywipes great for everyday stuff but the ink only came off with oxyclean.

I agree with acohol and q-tip. then if residue remains. Try oxiclean spray for fabric. Should do the trick.

I just read an article on removing stains that MILK removes ink stains.

It was an on line article and there was a video -- of course the demonstration was on a white shirt but it worked.

I have used hand santizer to remove ink, it always works.

My daughter colored her beige rocker once with a purple marker. I used the Oxyclean spray for carpet (it's what I had) and it took it all off without hurting the fabric at all. I didn't let it sit very long and sprayed lightly and cleaned it with paper towels. It took me a little bit because I was being so conservative with how much I put on and how long I left it. I was afraid I might ruin something. It cleaned it all up and you would never know she did it.

When I got my new beige microfiber furniture I called the manufacturer to ask what they recommended for cleaning ~ Aerosol Window Cleaner, make sure you buy aerosol though!!

I have used it several times to clean things off my furniture, works great!

Before you try alcohol or oxyclean, try a baby wipe! They take spots out of a lot of things. ;o)
