Hi S.
I suffered from yeast problems most of my adult life. until I found out a few helpful hints don't use sented pads or pantiliners take acidophulius when I feel a yeast infection coming on and wash my underwear and towels with a cup of vinager in the rinse cycle (a downyball full works great ) you also may want to sleep with no underwear on so you can dry out a little. Good Luck

Check out the books called The Body Ecology Diet and Breaking the Viscious Cycle.

Taking a high quality probiotic regularly would really be useful. There's one by Klare Labs that you have to order and have delivered in a refridgerated insulated pack that is really, really great. Has a lot of active live cultures which is exactly what you need right now. Also, the ones in the refridgerated case at Whole Foods Market are probably really good as well.

Eat a lot of yogurt with active live cultures and really decrease the amount of sugar, white flour products and yeast products that you eat since yeast feeds on these things.

I haven't had this particular problem but I know others who have. I hope that you get the answers you need and are able to put this matter in your past very soon.

Have your thyroid checked. Once my hypothyroidism was diagnosed and treated, I never got a yeast infection again.

At Target (as well as places like Walgreens) they have some stuff called AZO yeast. AZO apparently has a whole line of feminine products, you find them near the max ipads and tampons. The AZO YEAST(yellow box) is a probiotic to balance things out. What's unique about it is that it doesn't need to be refrigerated as most effective probiotics do, so you can throw it in your bag. Supposedly you can take it to cure an infection but I think it's probably better for maintenance. In my experience it works. It's also very affordable as opposed to other probiotic products.
However, I would definitely talk to a doctor about this because such frequent yeast infections could be caused by some other problem such as diabetes or thyroid problems and though this may not be the case you do just want to rule it out. Also, maybe your doctor can give you something else to deal with it because if you are using over the counter creams to treat it every month that can't possibly be could for you.

Cyclical Candida infections are not uncommon and can be tough to treat. It is not uncommon to have a flare up at the onset of your menstrual cycle - that gets better toward the end.

First - confirm it is yeast and NOT Bacterial Vaginosis which is an infection caused by changes in pH - which happens with sex, menstrual cycle etc.

If it is yeast - you should be on a daily dose of acidophillus - and could benefit from suppressive therapy with low dose anti-fungals.

Make sure you are not diabetic - that can cause recurrent yeast infections.

See your gynecologist.

I used to have this too! I did a ton of research and found a productcalled "fem-dophilus," (I bought it on amazon.com, but it should be refrigerated, so buying it locally might be a better idea). It's a pro-biotic that is specially designed to repopulate vaginal flora. I took it orally for a while, but would also use the capsules vaginally any time I felt that familiar type tingling (usually around the time of my period). It's been over a year since and I haven't had this problem since (and it last for three long years).
