I thought it was something to do with dampness. I think with my son I would use the blow dryer to dry off..on cool!! But also I could see like others said about the hormones and bacteria. Just one of those fun pregnancy things.

Hi S.,
don't take over the counter medication.I had a yeast infection
during my last pregnancy and took otc meds for it,one of those creams and the nurse told me absolute not to use it,there is something in the cream I forgot what it was.
So better ask your Doctor about it.
Good luck, Marion

Ask your doctor about acidopholus. It's a highly concetrated form of the bacteria found in yogurt. I take a pill everyday. Not only does it help prevent yeast infections, it helps with a delicate stomach, diareha and all sorts of things.

You can find it at any drug or health food store. The best kind to get is the kind you have to refridgerate.

I get yeast infections EVERY time I'm pregnant. I had 2 with pregnancy #1 and have had one already this time. It's a drag. I believe it's simply the rapid change in body chemistry that can throw things off balance. Fortunately, it's ok to take OTC stuff for it. I try and eat yogurt every day - I have no idea whether it actually helps or not, but I figure it can't hurt. Otherwise, avoiding too much sugar is supposed to help too.

Hi, I did not have that problem with me but my 9 month old gets them alot. The doctor told me that it is a bactiria that grows in some women when there hormons are imbalanced, eating sugary and yeasting things, and, in my daughters case, just beacause. I have never had one but for some reason she gets them. When they start I feed her alot of yogert. There is natural culturs in yogert that fights yeast infections. Also, try to sleep with the infected area not covered. The bactira loves wet warm dark places and it always helps her if I let her lay around uncovered for an hour or two in the morning and evening. But the yogart does help her alot!

Hope you feel better soon

Now that you mention it i do remeber having them as well with my son..I do know they are a lack of the correct bactria that is needed in "there". I agree eating yogurt is the best form of prevention.

S.,

I would always go to the doctor and let him give you the meds that you need. Just my opinion. I had yeast infections all the time with my first pregnancy. I would get to feeling better then in a week or two I would have it again. Come to find out (remember that it was my 1st pregnancy) my husband an I were passing it back and forth to each other. He had no signs of it at all. We finally took him to my OB/GYN and we both were looked at and come to find out he was carrying the infection during the whole time i was trying to fight it. so we both had to be on meds. After that we no longer had the problem.

I hope you get feeling better!!

I didn't have them with my first 2 preg., but with this one I did in the beginning. If you are out of your first trimester, take Monistat 7. The 7 day treatment should get rid of it for good. The Ob told me not the 3 day one cause it may come back. Mine went away and never came back, so I hope this helps.
