XBOX Game Suggestions for Ages 4-9 - Provo,UT

I got a hand-me-down XBOX with a basketball game, Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix, and dance pads. I got rid of the DDRU after checking out the songs. It was way too sexual for what I want my kids listening to and watching, and even for what I want to play. So do the dance pads have any value without that game? I checked out other DDR games and they all seem to contain songs I would never listen to and the girls are in skimpy clothes, even just bras. Are there any other XBOX games that I can use the dance pads for? What other XBOX games would you suggest for ages 4-9?

What can I do next?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far! Keep them coming! It is a regular XBOX by the way.

Games rated "E" are for EVERYONE...

Go to Gamestop and talk with one of the associates....they can help you. Buy used games - no sense in spending $$$ on new ones. I don't think I've EVER come across as "bad/broken" game.

We don't have the dance pads. We have the Kinect - and the guitars for the Beatles game....

Good luck!!!

My kids LOVE Xbox sports. We do have a Kinect that we use with the Xbox, and I think it's pretty much required in order to play sports. But they love it, and even young kids can play it (everything from bowling to table tennis to track and field events). They also love Zumba - they do it at school for PE class, so they're pretty good at Xbox Zumba (I have a really hard time with it LOL). We don't have any chairs in the room where we have the Xbox, so if they're going to play video games, they have to be active while they're doing it. It's great for rainy days! :)

Xbox does not have a lot of games geared towards the younger audience. In addition - is it a 360 or a reg Xbox? I am sure there are options online that you can download, however Wii is better geared to kids, Nintendo in general is more in tuned to the audience you have.

They do make dance games for younger kids, I think there is a DDR "kids" and also dance games with different characters like Dora. These may be more appropriate. I saw them on Amazon and TRU websites.

Personally I do not find some of the Lego games appropriate for the younger end of your age range. We considered getting an XBox for Christmas and went to try it out with the Lego Star Wars game on it. Even though it is Lego figures, there is still fighting going on and personally I just don't think it's appropriate for a 4 year old and I believe they are all rated E 10+ (everyone over 10).

We ended up deciding not to get a console this year, since we don't feel that there are a lot of games really catering to to the under 6 crowd. But if you already have one, I would suggest sticking with the sports type games or something like a creative art game if you want all of them playing together.

Good luck!

All the Lego games would be appropriate. I have no idea about the dance pad.

My kids 7 & 8 like the old Sega package on our Xbox 360... I think I found it at Wal-mart a year or so ago. It has all the Sega games we had as kids... like all the Sonics and some collect the birds game which seem to be the ones they play the most. We don't have the dance pad or Kinect - sorry can't help you with that. BTW Merry Christmas!
