Wrist Watch Suggestions for a 10 Year Old Girl - Ideas, What's In?

What kind of wrist watch is popular with 10 year old girls? Brand names in particular.

I'm checking into Swatch watches. Any other ideas?

To Sue W: That is my concern as well. Is a watch a thing of the past especially in the age of cell phones?

What can I do next?

The slap rubber watches are popular with kids. They can drop them and they won't break. My seven year old has a tie dye one. You can find them at Claires, Walmart or maybe even Target. Google them. :)

I don't know what is in but my husband found a Timex on Amazon that is water proof and has a stretch band. Since Genna is a girly girl she loves it cause it is pink and purply blue and the second hand has a flower on the end that goes around.....and it tells her when it is time to get her butt home! :)

Yeah it's weird. I can remember my very first watch. I think I got it in about 3rd grade, and since then I feel naked without my watch on. I am 43 years old...so that is a lot of years of watch wearing.

Today's generation... they don't wear them. My husband works with a lot of younger people ( "kids" as we call them, lol...they are in their late 20's mostly), and none of them wear watches. They never needed to. They have always carried cell phones with a digital time display.
My own kids went thru a VERY brief phase where they wanted to wear watches, but I refuse to buy digital ones. I prefer the kind with actual hands on them.... and there just aren't that many of them out there that fit non-adult wrists. If they do, they are "kiddie" watches---with Cars (trademarked) or Disney Princesses or whatever on them. My kids are WAY past that stuff.

Currently, they don't wear anything for a watch. But they usually have their ipod and they have clocks. :/

I think the slap watch things are cute for a girl. What to do for a boy, I wonder...

I don't remember the brand, my daughter found one at that tween store Justice. It has a band on it that slaps on and they don't have to worry about buckling it. She kept it at home after the first day though because all the girls were fascinated with it and wanted to try it on.

My 10 year-old daughter doesn't wear a watch and none of her friends do, either. If I was to buy her one, I would buy something inexpensive enough that she could wear it and not be afraid of damaging or losing it.

My 17 yr old has nice watches but never wears them. Her cheer guidelines are no jewelry so she wears minimal jewelry. She relies on her phone.

Me; I have a beautiful solid gold presidential ladies rolex with gold face. I wear it daily because I love it but I can see my phone much better and rely on the phone vs the watch!

I know.. I need to get glasses!
