I have ordered some items, namely costumes, for my son that are wrinkled when they arrive in the mail. I cannot iron the items. Any way to get the wrinkles out besides ironing? The main outfit I am concerned with is a sailor outfit I will use for pictures. The outfit cannot be ironed, and it comes with an adorable hat, but it is wrinkled as well. I don't think wrinkle release will work because of the type of material, and because it is a hat.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could try getting a spray bottle with water and lightly spraying it down and then put it on a hanger.
you might be able to put a heavy cloth over the item and put the iron on steam and press it. that usually works for me
What about a steamer? I wonder if that would work. It sounds like it might be worth a shot

Can it go in the dryer? If it can put it in with a wet wash cloth. The steam should take care of the wrinkles! When the dryer is done, hang up the outfit right away.
Steam iron them. If you do not have a steamer you could rent one or many dry cleaners have steamers. You could also try steaming out some of the wrinkles in you bathroom. Hang the garments up in your bathroom and turn the shower of very hot. it will sometimes take out the wrinkles. Some wrinkles will just fall out when hung up too.

If you can't iron it, steam it. I bought a garment steamer from WalMart for around $40.00 and I love it. It's like the ones they use in stores. They come in all sizes and costs and mine works great for being on the lower end of the scale. I believe it's by Conair. It's worth the money. You can hang a pair of curtains out of the package and just steam the wrinkles out without having to iron at all (which takes forever with curtains!). Great for fabrics you can't iron or those with appliques.
I agree with Tisa. My son came home with his dress military uniform for a wedding. They teach them to iron everything. He took this anyway to the cleaners.
kim it depends on the type of fabric the costume is made of. the safe way is to take it to the cleaners and ask for PRESS ONLY !
