Workout Songs?

I need to lose some serious weight, and my one friend went from barely walking to running almost 4 miles in 3 weeks. I am going to try to catch up to that so we can go together and the kids can ride bikes (and not have to stop to wati for me to catch up.) What are some good sons to put on my IPOD? I need really good workout songs that are updeat and fun so I can push myself to "just make it through this song". Thanks!!!

I love working out to fast paced songs. Here are some of my favorites: Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5, Black-eyed Peas. You can go to i-tunes and preview the songs for 20 seconds. Good luck with your running. I am signing up to run a 5k in September.

Great song suggestions so far! If you want to start running- check out Couchto5K online. You can download it for a few bucks onto your ipod (it's a running "program"- not music) and it's a GREAT way to get back into running again!!! I used to run before having my daughter a year ago, and just started up again 6 weeks ago following Couchto5K. It's awesome!!!! And you can use it while playing your favorite playlist too!

First of all, great name. You can be the west coast R. D, I'll be the east coast R. D... we kind of rock ;) ANYWAY, I love MUSE... not because of Twilight!!! Their music really gets me pumped up for some reason. I always listen to it before job interviews and stuff, and when I run. 'Butterflies and Hurricaines' is a personal fave ;) It's definately got a good pulse to run by! Have fun! :)

I listen to all the same songs people have posted (LOVE Lady Ga Ga for running!!!) But here is my tip to become a runner - what worked for me anyway. On a treadmill I would run for 3 minutes walk for 2 (repeat for 30 minutes) Gradually increase (run 4, walk 2 - run 8, walk 2 - you get the idea) If you're outside sometimes I play little "games" with myself to get through it, like run one song, walk one song - then increase it to run 2 songs, walk one song, etc. I used to be a terrible runner, but within about a month or so I could run 30 minutes without walking. Good luck to you :)

Depends on your taste. My current favorite is Lady Gaga for workouts. Try working out to "Telephone!"

I don't even like country music but I love the song "Independence Day" by Martina McBride when I work out. It's a pro-woman, butt kicking song!!!
