Working Moms Groups in Chester County, PA?

Hi, I have been looking for a working mom's group in the Chester County area. I looked on meetup.com and I found many SAHM groups and the only one that catered to working moms did not accept me because I live in West Chester and they are only accepting people from the Collegeville area. I am really looking for mom friends and a support system where my daughter can play and I can get some adult interaction as well. I have not been able to meet people in this area to make any friends and I was hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. Thanks for your help.

Hi All-

I'm invloved with a local group called Mothers & More. The chapter I belong to is in Delaware County (we meet-up in Media) but there is a specific Chester County/Main Line Chapter that might fit your needs.

Here is the website: http://156mothers.org
and their email: ____@____.com

The cool thing about Mothers & More is that it welcomes all Mothers - it's not just a group for SAHM, WOHM, etc. It's a group for Mothers. Period.

"Mothers & More is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy. We address mothers' needs as individuals and members of society, and promote the value of all the work mothers do."

Check it out!

If you find one, please let me know. I am a working mom too, but am fortunate to work from home 80% of the time. I live in Wayne and work in Center City when I do venture into the office.

I have a 6 month old and a two year old.

Hi J.,

I am actually looking for a similar thing in West Chester - I have heard about moxie moms so that might be an option, but otherwise they are mostly geared towards SAHM. Personally I don't mind having a mix but some of the challenges a SAHM has are quite different than a working mom (although certainly we all have plenty!) If you do start a new one, I'd love to hear about it - in the meantime I'll keep looking as well. Good luck!

Hi J.,
I too am a Mom's CLub reject. I tried many times to join different groups - ( I am a SAHM) and never really got anywhere. I am not so new to the area, I have lived in Honey Brook for about a year and recently have been trying to branch out and meet new people. What is your work schedual like? I bring my kids to Moon bounce adventures atleast once a week (the one in West CHester) and Would be up to meeting in the Exton Mall if you wanted. SO if you want to get together drop a line and we'll see if we can hook something up. I have a 2 yr old boy and 18 month old girl who need friends to play with. Weekends are fine. Hope to hear from you soon, E..

I would suggest starting your own group on Meetup. Meetup makes it very easy to run a group and it'll cost $12/month which you can ask your members to help cover.

I used to run a couple of groups on Meetup and had a lot of working moms want to join my sahm groups. I started a weekend group to attempt to cater to them but never had the time to really get it started. I had people joining the group though, so I'm sure you will too.

I think Moxie Moms might do things on the weekend too so you can check them out too.

Good Luck!

Hey J. -

I belong to Mail Line Moms (on meetup.com) Most of the mom are SAHMs - but there are a few that work. I actually live in Collegeville and the organizer really makes an effort to have activities all over. The moms live on the main line, downingtown, Collegeville, Norristown...all over! I know we have meeup events out in West Chester (I think it is called moonbounce adventures....).

Hope this helps!
