Work Out for Single SHAM

Ok so I'm a single SHAM and I don't get out that often. I have a regular stroller and go for walks quite regularly. I HATE workout vidoes because I usually just end up making fun of the person in the corner and their funny faces and I hate doing it alone. I'm not able to go and use my gym pass at night, because my baby now has decided to not sleep well and if anybody but me goes to sooth him when he wakes up, he FREAKS out and I can't afford the $2 whenever I go to the gym during the day. I use him as a weight a lot (he's 26lbs!) but i am desperately wanting/needing to lose a lot of weight. I'm a plus size girl and my knee's are killing me all the time now that I'm carrying O around all the time. Any good idea's on workouts? Or a good walking buddy near Scera Park in Orem?

What can I do next?

maybe try biking? I know it's WAY easier on my knees! You can get a bike trailer for your baby, and it's really nice. I love ours! And my two boys love to go on bike rides! I do live in Orem just off 200 North, so I'm not too far. Let me know if you ever want to go! :)

My favorite at-home workout equipment is a recumbent (sp?) bike. It works more of your body than a regular stationary bike, plus it's easier on your knees, ankles, and feet. My mom has arthritis in her knees and she still uses her bike every day. Plus most of them are quiet enough you can do it while you watch TV or while the baby sleeps. You can get a very basic model for under $100 just about anywhere, Walmart, Sears, I've even seen them at Walgreens! You could also get a fancy one with a digital readout that tracks your pulse and tells you how many calories you've burned, but those tends to run several hundred dollars more.

Good luck with whatever you go with, don't give up!

I don't know if you're interested in getting a piece of equipment, but I have a Gazelle and it's great for my knees. I use it while I'm watching TV and the time goes by pretty quick. My knees can't take a lot of impact and this helps out since you can go at the pace of a jog or run, but you don't have the impact on the knees. I got mine a few years ago and it was less than $100.
