Has anyone gotten fit using any Wii activities?? I am interested in getting the wii fit or some of the fitness games, like "Golds Gym" or one of Jillian Michaels workouts for the game system. I used to be in shape, then I had two boys and since I love playing the Wii games with them, I thought that it may be a good way for me to shape up while they are in school. Any tidbits from you wonderful Moms out there would be helpful. Thanks.

I bought the Wii almost a year ago. I am very happy with it. I bought the wii fit when I bought my system and actually use it. I highly recommend getting the EA Active game if you are serious about getting into shape. I use the EA Active game several times a week and it has a nice resistance band that goes with the game. You can buy a second leg strap and resistance band so you can work out with a friend. I have tried the Jillian Michaels game (2009?) and it was terrible. The old wii fit game was fun but not very challenging. I love the EA active so much that I just bought the new expansion game. The really cool thing is that now they are coming out with 3 lb dumb bells that the nunchuck and wii remote fit into which makes it easy to increase the intensity of the workout. The one thing that I would say is a downside to the EA active is that you have to use the nunchuck (I recommend buying a wireless nunchuck) and that I just noticed (after about 6 months of use) that the leg strap is coming apart. I can still use it but it will need replaced eventually. I hope this helps you!

I work out at home (because I dont have time to go anywhere) so on Monday, Wed. and Friday I bicycle (I have a recumbant cycle in my livingroom) while I cycle I lift 8 lbs weights for 5 minutes then cycle for an hour. I read or watch TV and the time flies by. I feel MORE energy and stay in shape that way. TRUST ME I dont want to do it but I DO. I have been doing it for exactly 1 1/2 years. I do it in my jamies, dont have to go anywhere or make any lame excuses. I just fall out of bed and onto the cycle!!!

I got the Wii Fit and was using is pretty much daily. I could see a difference in myself. I felt better. Then I found out I was pregnant and had to stop. Well, I've not started up again. I will, but probably not until after Christmas. I will get "The Biggest Looser" from my Mom for Christmas. (I know this as I've gotten it and have to wrap it!) You can choose to work out with Bob or Jillian. My folks have this. Daddy worked out with Jillian and she called him a poodle - now he works out with Bob!!

Wii sports is good. At first I didn't like the boxing, but now that I've played it more and am better at it, I can work up a sweat quick! I like Wii Fit; but, it all depends on what you put in to it, how hard you work yourself, but I think it's a pretty good tool to use in monitoring your weight and as a supplement to your exercise. I did use it for almost all of my exercise in the winter when it was too cold to go outside, but when the weather is good, I like to go walking or jogging. I weigh 15 lbs less than when I started using the Wii Fit about a year and a half ago. Not a whole lot, but there were ups and downs, and I didn't always use it regularly and I don't always eat like I should!

I love my wii fit. Right now I have sore muscles because I've made my workouts more intence. Yes it works, and you have to be accountable to yourself for weight gain or weight loss.

The way I look at our Wii Fit is that it's better than sitting on the couch playing video games. I did not find the workouts to get my heart rate anywhere near where it needed to be for a true "workout".
